Only the AI Loops and the AI Samples are free. The 5 other functions require Pro Plan. I deinstalled the software.

This synth pretty much offers what Helm does, but with an expanded feature set. I think Helm is a great synth, and because of that this one is great too.

I am very much a fan of this plugin. It is a full wavetable synth with FM options and sample loading. While I find the process of converting and adding wavetables/samples to be a bit difficult, and while the UI might be more challenging then most to get used to, this plugin is an overall great choice for sound design.

I received this plugin for free from the developer, however I will still try my best to be honest about my opinion with this plugin.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this one. There are so many things this synth has that I barely understand, and I love it for that. It can do anything from creating standard morphs and patches to more weird and noisy things. If you are looking for something that is not only a sound design sandbox, but is something truly unique, all wrapped in a great user interface at a reasonable price, this synth is a fantastic option for you.

Geonkick

Version reviewed: 3.7.0 on Linux

Hi there,

Im using Geonkick quite a time now. I was looking for a Kick2 alternative. Well i have to say, since version 3.7.0 i find bezier curve editing possibilities. For me it works quite fine and Im able to build profound kicks i like! The sound, in my opinion is very clean and proper.

What I am missing, is some kind of grid connection. It would be awesome to have note grid, to make precise 1/8 or 1/16 kick length. Im using Bitwig DAW and i miss parameters for external modulation.

Conclusion: I like the synth a lot, it's the best solution for Linux i found.

Moodal

Version reviewed: 1.2.1 on Windows

Selling Point: Very simple/fast/easy/low CPU and quality modal resonator effect. Fastest workflow i've seen in any BP modal resonator bank.

This is basically a huge bank of digital BP filters in parallel. When tuned based on their spacing and pitch, this is basically a very complex Comb filter whose resonances are not necessarily Harmonic (based on integer overtone series).

Users can also bend the inharmonics, choose their spacing, and their decay times over a spectral envelope.

Cons:

-As mentioned in another review, no key tracking is a big issue. This cannot be used to uniformly affect the timbres of all MIDI notes, so it should not be used as an instrumental modal resonator. As an FL studio user, I can use Patcher, but I am adverse to using that software.

-Limited to what you can create with BP resonators only. No String/Bowed/Comb Filter resonators.

-No Exciter or any control to what goes into this effect. This is purely for Processing, and cannot generate an Impulse.

-Very simple and doesn't have too much control over the exact tuning of the BP resonators. Though simplicity is also a Pro.

-Does not self-resonate. This is my greatest gripe, at high intensity the decay is large but the resonances of these BP filters do not have self-oscillation or enough amplitude to create more crispy/organic/realistic sounding Modal Resonators. The resonators do have quite a bit of resonances, but it needs more character and self-oscillation to compete with Chromophone/ Zebra 3/ etc.

Authentic to SP 1200. Easy to use. You can make nice crunchy beats with this. A no brainer, just buy it. Oh, I don't understand the complain about high cpu-use..maybe if you have a 10-year old computer...

This is an interesting product, but I do not really understand, why it only works as standalone program and not also is offered as (vst) plugin.

Good Marshall sounds, no doubt, a lot of tweaking options, only the way, the patchbay works, I have not compelety understood up to now, the pop-up descriptions do not really explain much about, what really happens there. So a more precise, real manual informations instead of update news only would be helpful and not onyl for me, I think.

Excellent, if it (maybe) becomes usable as plugin too in the future...

At long last a limiter that can rival paid offerings. Beautiful GUI, so many options for the sound. Beautiful! I like to use it in Loud mode to give me that extra loudness and follow it with Loudmax with no limiting, just as a safeguard catching any loose peaks.
Lovely Mastering Limiter! What a time to live, Indie developers rock.

Wow! this is simply amazing and was up and running in no time. Lots of other skins available on their DSP563Community [Discord] and in other threads/places, created by some very, very talented people. Hats off to The Usual Suspects team for another amazing precise emulation of a classic. .You are very, very much appreciated.
