Suhr SE100

Version reviewed: 1.1.1.1 on Windows

Some sort of hot-rod boutique Plexi, I would say. Nice British voiced tones with also more gain, but sonically closer to the original than eg. a Soldano.

A littel more "American" voiced than a real Marshall, I would say, more balanced and not as dirty and brutal sounding than the British original, but a great sounding amp /plugin.

Sounds to me better, than the sonically more flexible PT100, as the tones have - for me - more character.

Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 50

The Fuchs version of the legendary Dumble Overdrive Special as a plugin.

I never have been a great Dunble fan, it usually sounds too much like a typical Fender to me, with a little more gain maybe, but the Fuchs simply sounds awesome, as much as this plugin does. For me this amp version is a big improvement, compared with the original, which makes the result sonically even more flexible.

You can adjust more Fender-voiced sounds but due to the additional mid- and gain-control and boost features you can also adjust more British voiced, if not to say, fatter Plexi overdrive tones, which simply sound top notch, more balanced, more harmonious than a typical Marshall, but equally straight into the face and with the right harmonics and also good dynamic reation to attack.

The quality of the modelling is outstanding, the plugin sounds and feels like the real amp in my opinion. Also the implemented cabinets harmonize perfectly well with these amp tones.

Friedman DS40

Version reviewed: 1.3 on Windows

Friedman amps are not necessarily my favorite amps, but this one is a gem, if you look for beautiful vintage Rock, if not to say, AC/DC, ZZ Top tones, which are based on iconic JTM/JMP sounds.

Due to the 6L6 power amp the DS sounds different to a typical Plexi, but in a positive way, is no 1:1 copy, but a slightly different interpretaion of the theme, I would say.

Soundwise I personally prefer it over the BE-100, because of the beautiful, organic, more vintage voiced crunch to overdrive Classic Rock sounds.

Version reviewed: 1.2 on Windows

One of the most flexibly adjustable tube amps, I've ever seen with top-notch tones and not only another Metal amp, but this also of course.

Wonderful clean, crunch, overdrive to high-gain tones, basically with a beautiful British voicing but also in a lot of ways individually adjustable.

Diezel VH4

Version reviewed: 1.4 on Windows

Fantastic modelling of an equally fantastic amp! One of the best sounding, yet sonically flexible high-gain hot-rod boutique "Marshalls", so to say.

Meanwhile a VH-4 itself became an iconic amp, which it also deserves. As much as it deserves an excellent plugin like this one.

The best plugin version of one of my all time favorite overdrive pedals. Unfortunately most SD-1 based plugins, which I know, do not sound very much like the real pedal in my opinion, this one does.

A lot of different, but great sounding amps with also a lot of useful additional features in a single package.

Especially the Shred / Tight filter and the additional EQ allow even more flexible sound adjustments than the real amps. One highlight for me is the BX 666 amp, a fantastic high gain Metal amp, which is not based on any real tube amp and sounds great not only for Metal.

The plugin meanwhile is not the newest one but still sonically top-notch, as most PA amp plugins.

Decades ago I owned the real pedal. For me the best available model of this iconic chorus. Other chorusses might offer more features, but this one has this very unique sound.

My only wish is, that PA also one day releases a - very different sounding - Small Clone too in the same quality.

Iconic bass amp, perfectly modelled. Includes two different versions and sounds fantastic, but this all other PA Ampegs also do. Also the built-in features and cabinets work and sound fine.

Even a guitar sounds great if played through this amp / plugin.
