I have tried to find a decent and fully functional ARP Pro Soloist for years with lack of luck. That is why I got very anxious when I heard about the AM Pro Solvst release. I thought “OK, another SynthEdit thing”. (Nothing wrong with Synth Edit though) ”But no, Pro Solvst vst-plugin is written in C++.
Quoted from the developer: “The sound engine of the Pro SoloVst is a software emulation of the real analog algorithms implemented inside the original instrument: VCO, resonators, filters, VCF, VCA and analog effects. So you can hear and feel analog-like warm sounds coming out from a set of 30 voices corresponding to the presets of the synthesizer.”
Okay when it comes to playing the Pro Solvst, for me it was a dream come through. I recognised all the 30 presets I heard from the real thing. What amazes me most is the way it works; it’s NOT at all sampled sounds.
I am a huge Genesis/Tony Banks-fan so for me this is the closest I’ve come to the real thing. It does the work with honour!
Highly recommend synth for Progressive Rock/Rock/New age and it marries perfect with a Hammond tone wheel organ and a Mellotron! My best buy ever…
Edit: To bring out the best of the AM ProSolovst, use a midi-keyboard with after-touch, then you can controle P.bend/WoW/Growl/Volume/Vibrato-presets, just like the real ARP ProSoloist :)
