My son plays all the Sax's that there are... He's a jazz player and lives with me and so I'm constantly hearing Sax rehearsals and practise. [Trust me, since guitar is more my 'thang'... this is a 'mixed' blessing...hahaha]

I mention this for a few reasons. One, I'm used to hearing all the sounds on a Sax that only a human can make... you know what I mean? It's one of those instruments that varies greatly with how it's played, the mouthpiece and reeds, etc. So, don't expect ANY VSTi to give you what a real live great player can give you... BUT:

With that out of the way, this VSTi comes as close as is possible in the digital realm. You have control of the amount and sounds of the keys clacking [lots thru none]... the sound of breath, etc. along with all the other expected controls that todays VSTi's offer.

The sound is fabulous! And of course with various VST fx on top of the pure sound, many alterations are possible.

Probably the best review of this sound comes from an audio buddy of mine. A few weeks ago he was visiting and I loaded up this VSTi and played it for him... Now he is person with a way cool system [better than mine] and with hundreds of ways to produce audio. He was plain and simply blown away by the sound and the quality of the sound... he couldn't stop saying, "Wow" at every new thing we tried.

Keep in mind that this version is called Lite [even though it's pretty 'heavy' already] and that a bigger better Pro version will follow someday.

Get the demo if you don't believe me!!!!!

Let me be clear that although I was a beta tester for this instrument, my opinions are not influenced by that honor.

This little wonder is clearly superb in not only it's preset sounds, but in it's ability to be tweaked almost endlessly. From Sitars to Shenai's to other strings and flutes and will more ethnic scales than anyone could ever use!

As a beta tester, I get to somewhat suffer the birthing pains along with the Dashsignature developers, but anyone can follow along by reading on the kvr forum and see the process for themself. I mention this because in that forum, you will see attention to detail and sound quality addressed again and again. These issues are handled and improved by the Dash team in a very rapid and excellent manner and the results show up for the end user in the fantastically superb quality of the instruments. EMM is no exception. In fact just today there is a minor update to make it work more smoothly in an FX wrapper that was only updated itself a few days ago!

If you care for ethnic sounds, Bagpipes, various odd strings, flutes, etc. this VSTi is a "MUST" have item.

I will suggest a buying tip to users also... check out the package deals for the sets of VSTi's from Dashsignature.... wow, what generous and great offers!!
