Golden Compressor | GCO-1

I'm a bit surprised that no-one has written a review for GCO-1 yet. This plugin is fantastic. It has got a lot of options but is really easy to use nonetheless. The sound is brilliant. It pumps when you want it to pump and it works almost inaudible when you want it to be neutral.
some people complained that GCO-1 is difficult to handle because it has got so many features - forget it!!! Most of the parameters you don't need to tweak at all if you don't want to - you start with a preset, set the treshold (all presets have set the threshold to zero db by default) and then you can finetune atack, release and ratio and choose the compression algo of which there are five different ones - all five sound great but very different from each other. If you feel like tweaking it a bit more then go for it as you have all the options you could wish for but you don't need to as it sounds fantastic anyway. The interface is very clean and easy to use. Also it doesn't have any internal latency and it doesn't use a lot of cpu. The docs are very good. I haven't needed any support yet but I know that Torben is very responsive and friendly.
What's missing? - Sidechain currently and also I'd wish it had an optional limiter at the output-stage but I can't think of anything else right now.
If you're looking for an absolutely professional sounding, highly flexible and easy to use compressor then I can't recommend GCO-1 highly enough. I use it for everything, be it vocals, guitars,drums/percussion, basses or mastering.

Wow!!! Great sound!!! great filters!!!
The best sounding sample module I've tested so far!
What I don't like is that the LFO has just one
strength-value for all four possible targets - you could tweak the sound much more if you could set the strength independently for each target...
But apart from that: Just take one of the few presets
and play around with the parameters and you get several great sounding totally usable sounds without the common GM-Charme.
