In this video, I'll show you my favorite trick for bigger bass using a free spectral compressor. Instead of just side-chaining my bass to the kick drum like most people do, I feed the entire drum loop, kick, snare, and hi-hats ... into the sidechain input.
By setting the attack and release times to zero, the plugin precisely ducks all the clashing frequencies in real-time, creating perfect space for every drum hit and making the whole mix sound much cleaner and more powerful.
