This Free Plugin Just Got a MASSIVE Update
Polarity MD is available as a free download with no signup, telemetry, or iLok, and binaries are provided for Windows, macOS, and Linux at polarity.productions/polarity-md.
The GUI was rewritten as a native interface instead of a webview, which improves responsiveness, resize behavior, font clarity, FPS, and window open/close speed, especially addressing prior Linux webview issues.
Crossover slope is now adjustable per setup with options including 12 dB, 24 dB, 48 dB, and 96 dB, changing the character of the band split filters.
Crossover presets now auto-detect matching frequency settings: changing crossover points switches the selector to Custom, and returning to preset values re-highlights the corresponding preset such as Mastering.
Two crossover phase modes are available: a minimum-phase / zero-latency mode that introduces phase shift near crossover points, and a linear-phase mode that removes phase shift but adds about 23.2 ms latency and can cause pre-ringing, especially noticeable on drums.
Pro mode adds per-band dynamics and clipping controls, including individual clip thresholds, separate attack/release for upward and downward compressors, and direct graph editing of thresholds and ratios for each band.
The spectrum display supports direct manipulation of processing parameters, allowing thresholds, compressor gradients/ratios, and clip thresholds to be adjusted visually, with a reset option to restore defaults.
Workflow utilities remain included, such as 4x oversampling with slight added latency, per-band normalize to 0 dB, input/output loudness matching for bypass comparison, solo per band, and clip delta monitoring to hear only what the clipper removes.
