works perfectly on win 7 and literally like XO.

Interface is quite confusing but programmers aren't graphic designers so it's alright.

I like the random button in sequence editor, I think every VST should have a random button of some kind.

Overall very nice y2k kinda looking plugin.

AI slop/ KVR should do better to make sure trash like this isn't put into the developer competition again. KVR failed bigtime allowing this garbage in.

hey there! sorry to hear you didn't like the plugin, but actually it was written in HISE. the only ai assisted elements are the three js spheres and math drawn vector ui components. and of course debugging. here's the stack:

Pathfinder was made with HISE (Base), React+ThreeJS (WebUI), Python (filebrowser stuffs), C++ (Granular DSP), Faust (Reverb DSP, Flair DSP), and SNEX (Delay DSP, Degrade DSP).

EDIT: Developer has fixed the Tahoe install issue with 1.0.2! Thank you, the plugin now loads.

Ok so, first impression is the plugin seems like it's based on a cool idea, but in its current form functionally kind of half-baked. Control feels a bit janky. I'm not a programmer myself so I can't point the finger too much but it definitely seems kind of "vibe-coded", with plenty of flaws still to smooth out.

The sample cluster display is cool but I don't understand why it's spinning, and where there is various text (bottom right) that suggests it would control the movement of the cluster (Orbit, Zoom, etc.), clicking here doesn't do anything. Controls missing?

The plugin only scans max 2000 samples (my sample library currently has ~438,000 samples :D) - so it's not a catch all if you have a big sample library.

The ability to drag samples out of the plugin (as you can with XO) would be game-changing. I love the serendipity of stumbling on obscure sounds I never listened through - as a self-confessed sample pack hoarder this is common for me - and being able to quickly drag sounds out into a single sampler is a massive part of my workflow.

It seems like the sequencing aspect of Pathfinder could lead to cool results, but in it's current form it's a bit too much of a wrestle with strange functionality and a slightly confusing layout. I will keep checking back to see how this plugin develops. It could become something great. Thanks for your effort, Mr. Developer. Keep going with this.

PREVIOUSLY:

Plugin is not copied correctly to Plugins folder on Tahoe 26.2 / M2 Pro. Using installer for version 1.0.1. Would like to try it out but the installer does not work. Pathfinder.component appears as a Folder/Package, not a bundle, has weird access restrictions, is not being detected as a plugin. Does not show in Logic at all. Same issue with the VST3.

hey there! we caught a file permissions error that caused exactly this and pushed an update earlier. can you try downloading again and installing the newest version?

Neither the AU or VST3 appear in Reaper. No sign of anything on my mac studio M1 that indicates Pathfinder or Audio Tech is there. What the heck was just installed on my computer?!?! This worries me.

Hey there! Sorry to hear you had issues with the plug-in. I'm assuming you're on Tahoe? If so this applies to you, if not let me know.

I developed this one really fast and actually had not tested on Tahoe yet only Sequoia. Although it works for me on Tahoe, claude did verify there was an issue. Good for something after all LOL.

I have an update ready already, but it changes the version number and I think I read on the forum that would disqualify me? I'll have to check with the admin, or wait til the end of the contest. Either way coming soon.

**UPDATE: Download is now version 1.0.1 (approved by mods):

Thanks to everyone who reported issues — this update addresses them:

- macOS: Fixed a crash on scan/load that could stop Pathfinder from appearing in your DAW (or quit
the host when opening it). AU and VST3 now load reliably.
- Windows: Restored full velocity sensitivity — note dynamics now respond to how hard you play.
- Both platforms: OpenGL rendering is now on by default for a smoother interface.

Just grab the updated installer from the
download link above. Appreciate your patience.

For some strange reason, some VST instrument developers actually don't add internal (or as a separate control) velocity sensitivity to their plugins (correct me if I'm wrong on this plugin). This is another one of those and it extremely frustrates me, cause the concept of this plugin is really awesome. It's like some developers out there don't even realize, that it's the same as playing a piano, but you're only slamming the keys full force. I can't use this as it is right now, cause I love to play with feeling.
I hope you (if it's not an implemented feature yet) add this at some point.

Thank you, man. I legit missed that one after pulling my hair out over the nightmare of getting the ADSR to cooperate with nine samplers on a time gated round-robin.

Running Tahoe 26.5.1 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max neither the AU or VST3 appear in Logic or Live, or any other plugin host I have (Plugin Buddy, Element, Unity, etc.). Hope the dev fixes this - it looks interesting and I'd like to give it a try.
