I've been using Observer_01 for about three months now, and it's genuinely changed how I approach rhythm in my productions. As someone who felt stuck in predictable patterns, the geometric sequencing concept clicked with me immediately.
What I appreciate most is how it encourages happy accidents. Yesterday I was just rotating shapes against each other without much planning and stumbled upon a groove that became the foundation for an entire track. That sense of discovery keeps bringing me back.
The learning curve was steeper than I expected - I spent the first week just figuring out how the collision system worked. But once it clicked, the depth of control became apparent. I particularly enjoy tweaking the chance parameters to add subtle variation to otherwise repetitive patterns.
The presets were helpful for understanding the workflow, though I found myself quickly moving beyond them to create my own patterns. Some of the effects are more useful than others - the spatial panning and retrigger functions get regular use in my projects, while I rarely touch the reverse option.
