I've already easily created some of the most beautiful sounding reverb tails I've ever heard. The GUI is fantastic and the ability to stack four IRs is so much fun and provides a unique sonic world to explore.

Easily some of the most interesting and unique sounds that I've made. Love the UI too. All the plugins from Datamind are highly innovative.

LOVE the UI! The orbital modulators are really fun to play around with and visualize. I also appreciate that you have so many randomization options.

Easily the best limiter I've heard when it comes to preserving the low-end and transients. Can be pushed quite hard and doesn't get harsh or distorted.

Anima

Version reviewed: 1.5 on Mac

At its core, Anima works by using surgical resonant filters to extract pitched notes from unpitched, broadband noise. You simply drop in any field recording or audio file, play a chord, and listen as the transients and dynamics of the raw audio trigger breathtaking, evolving resonances. Instead of building a sound from standard oscillators, you're literally plucking harmonic life out of everyday noise. The emotional weight this brings to a track is unmatched; you can quite literally "embed your life into your music" by using recordings of your own surroundings.

Was very skeptical at first given that there was a pre-order waitlist. However, it was well worth the wait. This synth can really blend samples in a unique and powerful way. Looking forward to diving deeper.

Finally! I've been wanting to use Objekt so badly in Bitwig without having to subscribe to Reason. Reason has some awesome native plugins.

So much creativity with this one. And now the update to 1.1 allows for sample upload. Also the GUI is probably the coolest I've seen.

Quantum Room Simulator

Reviewed By noahrbc [all]

Version reviewed: 1.0.1 on Mac

From the moment I loaded the Quantum Room Simulator onto my master bus, I knew I'd found something special. As someone who's tried countless reverbs over the years, this one immediately stood out for its remarkable depth and character.

What impressed me most was how it transformed even the flattest recordings into three-dimensional spaces. Working on a vocal track that felt lifeless, I applied the "Small Wood Room" preset with minimal tweaking, and suddenly the voice sat in a convincing, natural space that felt like an actual room rather than an effect.

The seven room algorithms each have their own distinct personality. The smaller settings excel at creating intimate spaces without muddying the source, while the larger algorithms (especially the Taj Mahal setting) create expansive atmospheres without sounding artificial. The freeze function has become essential for creating evolving ambient textures in my productions.

The 10kHz bandwidth option is perfect for emulating vintage recordings, adding a gentle patina that tames digital harshness. I've found myself using this on drum buses to create that elusive "glue" that's so hard to achieve with most digital reverbs.
