Hotelsinus Reese Bassline

Reviewed By Navij11 [all]

Version reviewed: 1.0 on Windows

Lets start from the beginning:

User Interface: It was nice! Small, and functional, but it packs a lot of power! I like it! It manages to fit in all of the necessary features, and a cool little image on the right side. I just wish there was a way to see numbers when I tweak knobs, so I know what I'm doing!

Sound: Sexy! It's nice and growly if you tweak it right! I was getting some sick reese sounds with only a bit of experimentation! They are very thick and bassy, and the parallel filters only add to the growl. It sounds sick as hell! I noticed a huge problem, though - there is DC offset produced. I fixed that with Fruity Center, but it is still a problem, and should be corrected within the VST itself. Aside from that, the sounds rule!

Features: It was made for one purpose, and it does that well: Making reeses. It can, with correct processing, make killer reeses, and many very different kinds of reeses. However, it doesn't do much beside that. It's ok, though, as it was meant to make reeses. It IS lacking a few convenient features, such as octave, fine and coarse pitch control, but the features that it does have are unique!

Documentation: No useful documentation at all, and I still don't know what "F1" and "F2" on distortion do! The readme was no help.

Presets: There were a few presets, and they were ok, but really they don't showcase the full potential of this VST. I can't take off too much, because you can only do so much with it, but it would have been better if there were more.

Customer Support: I was looking for it. It said that there was customer support in the readme, but there wasn't, so I had to look around. I finally found it in the "contact" windows of a different site of his, and it took a while. I need to take off here!

VFM: Great, its free! How much better could it get?!

Stability: Fine, it hasn't crashed for me, but the DC offset is somewhat annoying!

Overall, its a nice VST! I love its sound, but I wish there could have been a bit more documentation, or simply a small explanation of each knob!
