I'll try in Live later, but I think I get the idea now. It plucks the _same_ chord you initially hit over and over again rhythmically? If so... that's not really an arpeggiator anymore, but it would surely be fun. I'll think about it :)
What I think is even cooler is how the Waldorf rocket does it.
Essentially in one of its modes you can have the arp play and have one knob let you cycle through preset chords that are created based on the current note the arp is playing.

It's the only synth I know that has the possibility to actually play arpeggiated chords.

Just thinking about your chipsynths being able to play chords as arpeggios which are actually chords themselves ..... hmmm

Modulating the arp's chord knob makes it possible to create chord progressions from one single arpeggiated chord.

Maybe, maybe in plogue's future?

There is actually no limit to what an arp can do. At one point it becomes a DAW by itself :)

Wow, did not know about this. Thanks, Fabi!

David, this would be killer.

Think I've discovered a bug in PortaFM, the reverb seems to stay on occasionally even when it's switched off, it will then only turn off if I pull the send level down. Win8, Live10, vst2. Let me kno if you want any further details.

I am really looking forward to the next chipsynth, I think PortaFM is one of the best sounding instruments I've heard in plugin world.

How's the cpu hit on the new one compared to PortaFM? Any chance to get in on the beta? Would love to give it a spin.

Yeah sorry about this, its fixed already and will be part of the PortaFM update shipped along side MD.

Beta is essentially over (I build v1.000 last week or so and no major issues was found),
Just working on promo now. CPU is always an issue with high accuracy. While we try to optimize as much as we can, we never modify the emulation core so as to make it more efficient like others do even for things you couldn't possibly hear like channel 1-sample delays inside the pipeline or clamping of calculations very deep inside or whatever. It needs to pass hardware bit for bit comparison tests or I'm not happy. Most complex patches at full poly seem to stay in the 30% single core use on a relatively average AMD FX-6300. Most patches stay at 20%. single core use.

Fantastic news.

Totally off topic, but I would love chipsynths for iOS.

Not closing the door, but it would definitely be after a few more chipsynths are released.

ETA on the MD release? I’ve only got a few weeks left before I gotta ramp it up for my last year of grad school.

My thought, as well. With portafm it was said that since it's so inexpensive, there's no need for an upgrade path for the new chipsynths. ....

It seems now that the new releases will add up to be a lot more than chipsounds was. ....

I want plogue to thrive, yeah, but still makes me feel meh....
