Just checked 1.10.0 but actually had an authorization issue on first launch after the update. Normally the process is seamless for me, but it wasn't recognising the code right or something. In the end generating a manual link from the plugin worked.

As for drag and drop, it works in Cubase 11 Windows 10 but behaviour has changed. Previously when dragging and dropping you would have to land it in Channel 1 in Cubase. If the part was Part 5, it would then automatically place it on Part 5, which was always unintuitive (and also sometimes mess up one of the track names, replacing it with SysEx). This release seems to have fixed that - it now just lands wherever you put it, as expected.

However, not all is rosy for me. Browsing and loading a sample within Cubase is now crushingly slow, around 4 seconds where it was essentially instant before. On further investigation, this only appears to be the case when using a VST2 version of the plugin that was pre-existing in a project, or enabling a disabled plugin in my template (I also updated the Data on installing btw). New instances or standalone work normally.

I'm going to contact Spectrasonics tech support now.

Thank you for your reply.

I am also on Windows 10 by the way.

Good that MIDI drag and drop works for you. For me, it doesn't work at all with FL Studio. I reported it yesterday and they have confirmed that they are aware of it and they will have an update soon. Because it is kinda a deal breaker for me, as it is the basic and probably the most useful/important feature.

The browsing and loading is slow for me compared to other plugins, but this is my first contact with Stylus RMX, so not sure if it is the plugin or because I am using HDD.

Love Enigma - if you're new to it, the browsing speed is likely the plugin. For me it's always been quick, but I guess depends on the rig. The new very slow issue seems to be confined to old projects, not new instances.

noiseboyuk: Okay, I tried again and it does not seem as slow as it seemed yesterday. Might be a wrong observation.

By the way, I found the problem with MIDI drag and drop in FL Studio. When I drag the MIDI from Stylus RMX and drop it on the outer edges of Channel Rack, or FL Studio's Toolbar, or FL Studio desktop area (area behind FL windows), etc. I get the Import MIDI dialog box and then I can import it. However, this is not ideal and quite cumbersome, because it asks to save the project every time I try to drag and then I need to select a couple of options on the Import MIDI dialog box. This creates the sliced loop MIDI on a MIDI Out channel, which then I need to copy to Stylus RMX channel as using a MIDI out plugin here does not really make sense.

These problems don't happen with Superior Drummer 3 or any other software that I have that has MIDI drag and drop. With these plugins, I can drag and drop directly on a channel in the Channel Rack or Piano Roll. All these options work perfectly.

I have informed this to Spectrasonics support. Hopefully it will help them to find the solution.

EDIT: Turns out the problem is only in the latest version v1.10.0f and for both VST2 and VST3 plugins. So, I downgraded to the previous version 1.9.9c2 and the MIDI drag and drop works flawlessly.

So, FL Studio users should not install the latest update yet. Fortunately, it does not add anything worth bothering about anyway. 1.9.9c2 is VST2 64-bit, which is perfect for me. It was just a coincidence that I got Stylus RMX yesterday and the updates were also available yesterday only.

Good diagnostic work. Something's definitely changed in the drag/drop behaviour in this release - for the better in Cubase but every DAW is different.

Can't believe: Stylus RMX finally has a resizable GUI. :o

Oh nice, thanks for the heads up. :tu:

Nice update! So much better now. Also I see the others got updates and the VST3 parameters now show in Bitwig, nice.

Ok it's been a super long time since I've played with this. I can't remember - Is it not possible to change the loops but keep the settings (filter, pitch etc.)?

Looks like it isn't resizable in Studio One 4. S1's container resizes but not the plugin.
Back to Windows magnifier for teeny tweaks.

I took a look, and Stylus RMX was released in 2004. By my considerable maths skills, that's 19 years ago.

I'm old. Look a the musical landscape of my youth in 1984 - Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Grandmaster Flash, Propaganda, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, The Smiths. Kraftwerk has long since peaked. 19 years before that - again, me with the maths skills - was 1965. When Stevie Wonder was 15.

Spectrasonics - enough. Whatever you've got, release it now before climate change gets us all.
