Since I keep posting I might as well keep it all in one thread. I'm sharing because I'm coming at this as a new user who has a little experience with synths but not a ton. Maybe some of these ideas will be useful.
For this post, I was thinking that the Random modulator might benefit from a tempo sync option.
Thanks.

Hi. I can't seem to get Voicing mode 'Polyphonic (1 per note)' to work. That mode and Polyphonic seem to behave exactly the same for me. When I play a single note twice in quick succession, I get overlap regardless of mode besides monophonic.
In the tutorial video #6, the button seems to work for the demonstrator. Mine isn't working like that. Anyone understand this and can help?
Here's the patch:

The description of 'Polyphonic (1 per note)' says that it terminates the note in the same way as it would when you release the key i.e. playing the full release stage of your note. It seems to be meant for sustain pedal usage.

I struggled with this also, but the Modulator has to be synced - on the Normal tab. Then, check Synchronize to LFO on the Random tab - to have it stick to BPM defined - on the Normal tab, lol! Another confusing thing is that Phase (Normal tab) isn't set to 0 by default. Lots to trip over on this one, as I was searching for a way to make a Sample & Hold modulated filter cutoff. But, at last! Other than that, versatility rules.

Ok, thanks Held. I think it's definitely meant for a sustain pedal. I was thinking that it would terminate the decay stage as well as the release stage but it doesn't seem to do either.

Hi Jan. This is helpful; it actually answered a question I didn't think of. I believe you're referring to the global modulators from the Meters and Utilities panel.jan-sandahl wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 5:45 pmI struggled with this also, but the Modulator has to be synced - on the Normal tab. Forgive me, I did not specify that I was referring to the Per-Voice Random Modulator. For that, the only modulation target is the Level.
Thanks for the help, everyone. MSF is really something but, without standard-type documentation, I find it hard to distinguish features among broken, does something else, or I just don't understand it yet.
Hopefully the more posts about it we get on here, the easier it will be to search for and find answers.
Cheers.

Just wanted to update this. For me, it seems that MSoundFactory's Voicing Mode 'Polyphonic (1 per note)' does not terminate an active key-voice when I use a sustain pedal either. What it appears to do is send the previous voice into the release stage whereas regular Polyphonic mode will keep all voices in the sustain stage so long as the sustain pedal is held. Actually, the '1 per note' mode does allow for up to however many voices you have specified in Advanced Settings, Max Voices Per Note to remain in the sustain stage while the sustain pedal is held.
The way I was expecting it to work is for MSF to be polyphonic but, if I re-press a key, whatever voice was originally there would be abruptly cut. I'm not saying that's the right way to do it but calling the mode '1 per note' when you can have up to 20 per note confused me. Maybe a solution to this is to have the button which says '1 per note' update to whatever value you have set in the Advanced, Max Voices Per Note drop down menu. Also, it would've been clearer for me if the tool tip said that any voices beyond what you have in 'Max Voices' is sent to the release stage instead of saying 'terminated' as it currently does. EDIT: My bad, it says "terminated in the same way as when you release the key." That pretty much means 'sent to the release stage'. Still, it doesn't seem possible to actually only have one voice per note in the sense of a kind of 'multi-monophonic' mode.
Basically, as it is regarding sustain pedal use, the '1 per note' button is governed by 'Max Voices Per Note' and Polyphonic is governed by 'Max Voices'.
Thanks

Small thing: MSF/Oscillator/Plugin Settings (right click module)/Banks/Help/Insert says:
"Hence if you select bank 4 then bank 4 will become bank 4 and 4 will be erased..."
I think it's supposed to say "...then bank 4 will become bank 5 and 4 will be erased..."
Actually, this is written in the Banks Help for all modules.
Thanks

Quick idea: does anyone think there should be an option, when copy/pasting modules, for the newly-pasted module to retain any MP settings? For example:
create autopan module, assign depth to MP1, copy and paste module, new module is also assigned to MP1.
This goes for MSF and MX. It could be a popup dialog, context menu or checkbox next to the copy button in the Plugin Settings window.

For the Oscillator module in Constant mode, this goes for MPowerSynth as well, can we please define the pitch directly? As it is, we have to remember that the tone generated is 440Hz. That's fine but it's not ideal for generating a test tone at 1khz, for example. Thanks.

Not sure what the Bipolar button does in the MSF Per-Voice LFO(1) popup does; it has no Help (F1) and it doesn't 'flop over' the signal like the Circular button. Can we have a help entry for that, please? Thanks.

Ahoy. Kind of a weird one here. It's happened twice that if I right-click or Ctrl-click the FX tab of MSF, I get this weird ghosted overlay (see pic.)
Also, occasionally, the line that tracks the Globals envelope sometimes gets stuck. I especially noticed it prior to the latest update but it still happens w11/reaper. No pic for that right now.
