Ok, here's my dodgy mix, indicating where I intended my parts to sit:
The Funk
I don't mind you putting the parts wherever you like, but thought this might help! The bvs aren't meant to be on top of my solo, of course, but that's where they sit in the chord structure.

Hehe, don't worry, I'm working on it. I'm actually waiting for 1 more solo (been PMing), which might or might not come by Sunday. Nonetheless, here is the first beta mix of what I've got so far. Feel free to give me suggestions on improving. I'm not quite happy with all of the transitions yet. The ending is a bit weak too. Do the organ hooks inbetween get on your nerves or are they OK as a recurring "theme"?
I am very happy with the hard rock feel coming in with tomg's solo Watto's jazzy piano licks
provide a good variation too. It's been a lot of fun mixing this.
Don't like the transition from Morelia's guitar solo (last one) to the last part yet. Your thoughts?

Sounding nice!
The organ hooks work, they break up the improv bars a bit.
Watto's playing is very refined and quite reminiscent of Herbie Hancock with the soloing.
I must admit I'm not too fond of the end either, but hey, it's a beta.

This was a great idea and I really like the results. Piano part = tasty.
The guitar->ending transition sounds ok to me, jakob.
Are you still accepting submissions? I might give it a try
