I'm using Reaper. 2 midi options- Fishman tripleplay, and Oxygen25. Both of them appear to work fine in Reaper.
I get no sound out of the TX16wx using the Oxygen, but I can use it on other VST's fine.
Say I set up a track with a synth VST, and a track with the sampler and its output tracks. I enabled all the midi devices in prefs, and set up the tracks to read the different midi inputs (either tripleplay all channels, or Oxygen all channels so it won't be a channel issue). The results are as follows:
Using the tripleplay, I can play the synth VST, and can also play the Sampler. I can direct the track reading the midi data to the sampler and it works, etc.
Using Oxygen, I can play the synth, but can't play the sampler no matter what I do. The meter shows that midi notes are being triggered, they don't turn yellow indicating sound is coming out like the synth track.
Any thoughts, any more information you need? Bottom line I can't use the sampler with the oxygen25.

I would guess your Oxygen is set to transmit on a MIDI channel different than 1, and your Reaper track is set to just forward MIDI without translating channel. A new TX16Wx slot will by default be set to listen to channel 1. Either set the reaper track to translate MIDI input to the channel in the TX slot, or change the TX slot to listen to the right MIDI channel (or omni if you like).

Maybe I've missed the point, but ...
TX16Wx is not like a synth - it does not create any sounds of its own accord. You need to load some sounds (or "instruments") into it first, then they will play back.
The easiest way to get started is to download some .sfz files (and their samples) and load them into TX16Wx. As I do not know of many suitable web sites, someone-else will chime in and recommend some.

Yes I know, I got the samples in. As I said the tripleplay plays them fine. I see midi notes being registered in the track, but I don't see the piano roll in the Sampler registering any notes. When I use the triple play, I do see piano roll notes registering.
I used Midiox to see what the Oxygen was putting out. All the controls and keys are channel 16, the drum pads are channel 10. I have the track viewing all midi data, all channels.

As the Oxygen is sending notes on MIDI channels 16 and 10, double-check which channels are set for the instruments in TX16Wx:
