Can you edit a mapped slice without messing up the other slices?

I'm very new and still exploring the plug so sorry this is probably really simple. I keep mapping my slices and then realizing I want to change one, and then when I go to change the area that's highlighted the adjacent slice also snaps its section to where my cursor is. Am I doing something wrong?

Editing a whole slice, or the slice start will normally move the adjacent slices as well. Since they are slices. Not individual sections. Editing a slice _end_ backwards will _not_ move next slice start though. (Though alt-key will force slices to always be kept adjoined).
If you want to retain the position of the next slice, simply pin it. (Select, mark as pinned).
