I know it doesnt help, but I'm not that keen on either. Dislike the first one least, though.
Sorry.
Sorry.

to be honest... from these two the second is clearer, but I do like the idea of an audio flow illustration on the GUI. I have to agree with Mr Rabbyt that there's still room for improvement though.

Thanks both of you, I do appreciate sincerity, no needs to be sorry, and I'm not sure as well about those two.
But one thing I know, I want to have a fresh style for this plugin, not full 3D and not totally flat, Marimka seems to work in that direction
was for I used knobs instead of sliders?
suggestions?
Cheers

I;ve been working in that direction as well, not full 3D but enough here and there to give a slight sense of depth and dimension so its not flat, which I find fustrating quickly.liqih wrote:...not full 3D and not totally flat, Marimka seems to work in that direction...

i think the design of the first's ok, but there's alot of wasted spacew at the bottom on the 2nd - i like the flow on the 1st too - but the colour palette?! can i have some of what you're on pls?
(my favourite gui's are probably wavearts and fabfilter)

I always like the colors in Marimka but I was never fond of the SM knobs. I'd suggest using the color tones like you did in Marimka to break sections up and play with the opacity or the fill colors on the second one. The first one is far to busy imho, the white boxes almost feel like a second parameter control rather then a signal flow, might be a bit of a distraction.

I'm not wild about either of them, either. For me, the first one looks too cluttered, though.whyterabbyt wrote:I know it doesnt help, but I'm not that keen on either. Dislike the first one least, though.

I'd say the first is my preference.
Have you thought about asking GUI designer to help out?
Some will do it for free, I think, for experience/exposure.
Sometimes an amateur-looking interface doesn't do proper justice to an otherwise wonderful instrument.

Thanks guys for the suggestions, I'll try more,
pwal, fabfilter has great graphics, shape wise,
but the colours choice is really matter of culture IMHO, <grin>
Hlis93, very nice GUIs at http://styleyourui.com/ Thanks for the tips
Musical Gym, check this:

Thanks for screenshots.
I'm sure you guys will come up with something good for SF.
Initial attempts looked like they needed some help.

Yes Jim, I'm quick at making good sounds (it seems) but for graphics it takes time, <grin>

The graphics are fine.
I think I was too quick with initial impression.
I'm sure the designs would grow on the user.
The sound is the most important thing.

Agree with Jim. The sound is definitely the most important thing.Musical Gym wrote:The graphics are fine.

And regarding this I really enjoyed some of the audio demos soundwise.
Then from all the screenshots the Prima Delay could be close to what you're looking at. Just put the Knobs on the lower part of the Gui instead of the upper side like in your two initial projects.
Knobs thake less room than sliders, so I vote for knobs. I prefer sliders when it comes to compare at a glance a lot of similar parameters (ie a mixer)
The smaller -possible- the Gui, the better -imho-. You always need room in sessions on your screen.
And the Prima Delay looks clean and well organised regarding this.
