Introduction

EVE, a Virtual Instrument for the Windows Platform (VSTi), is a new and different type of sample player, featuring a new multi-timbral and multi-layer concept designed to create amazingly complex ensembles with vintage keyboard samples.

It comes with a complete library of multi-sampled keyboards such as electric pianos, organs and rare strings machines.

And it also include many other vintage waveforms, like Korg MS20 and Minimoog saw and square wave samples,

these are very useful along with the rich vintage sample library to achieve a "semi additive" synthesis, e.g. you can layer a pure sine tone with a Rhodes sound to reinforce the fundamental harmonic, or you can use the the attack bit from a Wurlitzer
to start a stack of vintage strings and analogue square wave.

So if you like to be creative and love the many sounds that talented musicians invented for their recordings in the early years of rock, you will find how exciting can be to compose with this mini workstation which is EVE. Yes since vintage effects and a mixer are on board too.

And the real power comes when you can take advantage of the ultra fast engine, which has been programmed with pure SSE Assembly instructions. This power allows you to play smoothly and simultaneously all 3 multi-sampled sections with 9 LFOs, 3 envelopes, 3 filters running, with all the polyphony you need.

Note: non SSE CPUs can run EVE too , with reduced performance though. Not Quality reduction but number of voices available simultaneously.

These waveforms, combined with the rich vintage sample library, are interwoven to create something we call Semi Additive Synthesis, or SAS for short. For example, you can layer a pure sine waveform with a Rhodes keyboard to enhance the fundamental harmonic, or you can stack the attack from a Wurlitzer, have a wash of Solina strings, and add an analog square wave to give that finishing touch.

Just a note to you non-SSE processor owners out there, there is hope for you too. EVE can run on non-SSE processors, but with reduced polyphony. In no way has the quality of the sound been compromised!
