I saw that someone in the Music Cafe posted a tune based on an Albeniz work and still remember the first time I heard the guitar transcription of this piano piece.

That would be pre YT.
Many a film or television recording prior to the 1980's would be faked to a backing track. And the fretting hand would be hidden from view. Sometimes even during a live performance due to the cameraperson not being directed on where to focus. Prime example would be footage of Eric Clapton with Cream.
