Ha ha ha i did not noticed it is from 2012 untill about your post.mcbpete wrote:Sorry for the necro-bump! I'm currently on a hunt for a new drum synth (synth rather than sampler) and have got myself more confused the more I've researched - fxpansion Tremor, e-phonic drumatic, Waldolf Attack, Sonic Charge µTONIC, MeldaProductions' MDrummer, Xils stiX .. ... but I'd definitely trust an Urs drum machine (bought every other synth!), so: Did anything become of this project ?!

Oh man, fantastic news!Urs wrote:We've been working on drum synthesis for two years and we'll present the result (not a finished product) during Superbooth 16 in little more than two weeks.
This is fundamental research. We have not yet decided on a product name, its features or anything like that. It merely makes "tshick" and "boing", but in a really, really good way.
(currently it is indeed a plug-in that is just one instrument. One needs several instances to make a full kit)
I know you don't have any release date or anything like that, but could you give some sort of rough indication?
Like, do we talk about another two years down the line here, even longer, or probably within a years reach, or...?

The idea of a phsycially modelled BFD (for lack of a better comparison) is certainly interesting. At least, I think that's what I'm looking it. It's hard to gauge from the audio in the embedded video, how this actually sounds though. Definitely something to keep an eye on.LFO8 wrote:Physical Modeling: Check
