It would not do well to have sounds change after patches are submitted.
The early patches were probably made with the alpha version which got some substantial changes.
I assume that the patches made with a beta version should be more (or less) the same with future versions.

^ nice atmo patch! :)
but should have been anonymous.
That's why Urs said that every patch will be stripped of it's user name for the voting phase...

Hey 3ee,

thanks!

The name of the patch is not in the title of the audio preview.

Is an audio preview allowed?

2370+ will be the revision it's going to be judged by :)

I don't mind it, but then we haven't really thought about that...

Whether it's an advantage or a disadvantage for you or the others, I can't tell atm.

Thoughts?

No matter how anonymous it is, it's not difficult to figure out a patch after listening to the audio preview. I would suggest not to allow audio preview until contest ends. It's a loophole, one can use it to take advantage during voting.

Hey Urs,
I think it is a good promotion for your product and this nice event.
Other ppl could get inspired by listing to the sounds.

I don't want to win a price it is more the Olympic idea. :D

To be completely fair, every patch would need an audio demo, posted anonymously, and even then it becomes less about the patch and more about a specific performance. I'd be a little wary of this ... much more overhead for everyone to get involved, and I'm not sure it's a better contest in the end. There's a surprise factor when it's all anonymous and unheard that's pretty great.

[e] What's cool with audio previews stays cool after voting ends, too, I think.

friendly reminder that there's a patch info area. ;)
For tricky patches, leave playing instructions or whatever...

10 days? But but..im out on a gig.. :ud:

Yeah, not even two weeks to get our own stuff sorted out...
Don't have a single patch finished for the contest and I'm leaving tomorrow for a couple of days, tough luck I guess :(

In other words, I'm also in favor of extending the deadline a bit! :tu:
