Spot on. I only meant that the knob itself wouldn't be elegant, but a 'window' could indeed be useful.

Certainly something to consider, along with all the other suggestions so far.

Even if some people have discovered the W1 through the BBA edition and opt for the GUI-less version, we've still done our job by bringing this excellent limiter to people's attention. :D I, too, look forward to a new commercial limiter from 4Front, and all because of how great the W1 is. :)

You're quite welcome! I can't take any credit, though... it's all about Mully and the coders. I'm just a pimp. ;)

Speaking of coders, if your read the website literature, we try to keep an open-door policy, so if anyone thinks they might want to code something as part of the BetabugsAudio team, you're welcome to 'apply' for a job. :D No pay, I'm afraid... only glory and hot chicks. (OK, only glory). Most of our coders also have outside projects, and retain their rights to the code they make with us.

So, it's more like a community than a company, though releasing commercial plug-ins is always somewhere on the radar, too.

Zee Babelfish... she tell me nothing!

I enter "puffmutter" and ask for German to English and it translates as "more puffmutter".

Dammit!

Bah. Now I'm a puff mother.

I guess that makes me more of a Madam than a pimp?

Still not sounding good...

I love the interface style. Your stuff really has a "feel"... Very nice, strange, unique. I like it.

I can also buy the "Use your ears!" argument except for the fact that this is primarily a *mastering effect.* And mastering is a bit of technical process where meters and numbers SHOULD be factored into what you hear, because often you're having to estimate and guess what things will sound like on sound systems other than your own anyway...

I think if your interface had METERS and a little spot for numerical accuracy -- it would be perfect!

But I know that would require more code on his end. I suspect he's saving those features for the commercial version of the next limiter he'll reason.

PS> I've looked at the waveform output of L1 and W1 and studied it as closely as possible and they really do appear to be identical. To be able to get that for free is amazing. Thanks for improving the looks.

I can find the W1, but not the betabugs skinned version anywhere. Betabugs.com is down and nowhere seems to be hosting it despite it's diminuitive size.
I've switched computers and my pc is asking for the betabugs version that I used in older tracks. I wish things like this were archived better.

**edit -- found it on the Wayback machine, along with a load of other Betabug plugins

it is one of very few limiters that are actually good. most just pump (ugh) wich is not good imo. Two other limiters that are similar and just as good are Saschart EasyLimiter and Loudmax.

Wow multree there's a name that's a blast from the past. :tu:
