The last two days got me down to one compilation error. But it's weird.

I'm desperate... a friend of mine will come over tonite and have a look at it... it's such a strange issue...

Cheers,

;) Urs

Oki, my Problems are fixed!

It's soooo weird! I took the files from the Mac to the PC. All of my own source code files have UNIX text formats. That's no problem. But I also took the VST files from Steinberg. And these were in Mac text format... OMG... such a stupid thing.

Visual C kept complaining and complaining for the most stupid stupidity ever. The editor showed everything okay, it was invisible for me. But the compiler was more picky than, well, than anything reasonable...

4 days of desperation... for nothing...

sigh

So, now I can finally start on the implementation... it looks much better now...

Cheers,

;) Urs

What's the difference between UNIX and Mac formats? Line endings, character encoding, or something else?

"traditional" mac format is CR for EOL, while most MacOS X tools are using unix format now (NL)

Yeah, it seems close now.

Today is the big day. I'm currently preparing for the final compile of the "naked version": Slurping another coffee, opening a new pack of smokes, writing down my last will (in case of heart attack) etc.

The "naked version" is a (hopefully) working VST of Filterscape without Windows specific stuff: No mouse handling, no png graphics loaded, no contextual menus, no text input dialogs.

However, it will already bomb me with a couple of message boxes that report the internal state. It might crash, but that's okay, considering a bunch of functions that are empty now...

If all goes well, it should be pretty easy to get it running in a usable shape.

I'll report back later. If I survive this.

Cheers,

;) Urs

P.S.: Now booting the PC...

Hell Froze Over!

It runs

Unbelievable.

It looks a bit weird though: No background graphics (as I still havn't put in the code to load .png images), the colours are inverted and everything is upside down, hahahahahahaha...

I'll post a screenshot soon... soooo funny!

So, it basically works!

Looks like we'll get something going pretty soon!

Cheers,

;) Urs

Haha! At this point, that's probably a good idea for anyone reading this thread, too.

You're amazing, Urs!
If you like 80s retro sounds, check out my latest tune…

:D

No heart attack occurred... I just turned it upside down again and reversed the colour bits, so it looks correct now...

Also testing the new Quick Reply field...

;) Urs

catching up on this thread
is better than most soap operas

may have something to do with interest and anticipation
i can't wait, but i have to wait

Filterscape and Zebra for PC are really the only things I expect to buy this year

if you need PC beta testers I'm sure you'll have many, but I would add my interest

Well, just somewhere at the bottom... maybe only for mods? - But it doesn't get me Topic Reply Notifications... hence back to normal Reply... :?

Thanks man!

I'm pretty sure there'll be a bunch of strange issues! - Will gladly come back to your offer!

Hahaha, it works super fast when using /O2 in a Release build, just like on a G5, but a Debug build without /O2 brings even my Athlon 4000+ down to his knees when moving the editor window. I know you're into Delphi, but do you know if one can use /O2 with debug settings?

Cheers,

;) Urs
