I'm recording a guitar track in Tracktion, and the audio from other tracks bleed through. Recording vox- same thing. It's almost like the headphones are so loud, the mic is picking up the sound except my guitar shouldn't be doing the same thing. In fact, the bleed through on my guitar only occured on one side of the mix. So I inactivated that channel (I forget if was left or right) to eliminate the audio that had been re-recorded.
When I unmute my mic (Soundblaster Live! 24 bit with Creative Audio Software installed- I know, not the best) the audio seems to bleed through on both left and right, as inactivating either channel results in the same outcome. I've even tried decreasing the volume in my headphones to the point where I could barely hear the playback, and recording like that, but I get the same results.
This is unacceptable for recording and I need help figuring out what to do.
Thanks in advance for any help :(

Its going to be a problem with the sound card or mixer software that came with it. Did you check the creative mixer for any loop back? Like, the wave output is enabled for recording?

Is it connected to an external mixer? that could be bleeding through as well.

I am having the same problem with my Tascam US122. I heard of other complaining of the same issue but hadn't noticed it on my unit until recently. It's definately a hardware problem and I think my resolution will be going to a different sound device.

OK, I seem to have solved my problem ( :x while on hold for Creative tech support!).
The Creative mixer has a tab and drop down menu for "recording". Apparently you can monitor line-in, mic, s/pdif in, and aux in. There was also a choice called "What you can hear". Instead I chose mic, and the problem went away. I guess the "What you can hear" sends the audio back through or something and so it gets re-recorded. It seems kinda stupid, although there's probably a reason for it.
I hope this can help you in some way, darcyb62. Good luck!

Recording "what you hear" can occasionally be useful.. there are many reasons to ditch your creative card, but this isn't one of them!

pretty much ... AFAIR from my time as an SBlive owner 'what you hear' records as input what you are monitoring at the cards output ... useful for some tasks (like recording streams etc) but trouble in the situation you describe ...

definately a US-122 problem, I have the same prob. If you turn the headphone knob down on the US-122, the bleedthrough stops...
