Chorus and delay don't tend to be as hungry as reverb: I would suggest cutting back to just the one reverb send, and inserting everything else where needed..

true, but then I'd normally do that at the instrument level.platinumears wrote:Not always the case: even just different amounts of pre-delay on different tracks can help create more front to back depth..valley wrote:Reverb sounds better when applied globally.
Either way, I should have said: "Reverb generally sounds better when applied globally."

Sure, given the right situations that's possible. But it's a workaround for something where I should not be obliged to do a workaround in the first place.platinumears wrote:Chorus and delay don't tend to be as hungry as reverb: I would suggest cutting back to just the one reverb send, and inserting everything else where needed..
Anyway, I know it's in the feature request/bug report list - so there's hope.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.Tingle wrote:this is all just nonsense. fix the bug!

I always felt that putting delay and chorus as send effects was a work-around, personally.Pädy wrote: Sure, given the right situations that's possible. But it's a workaround for something where I should not be obliged to do a workaround in the first place.
I'd far rather have specific delay and chorus settings for each sound. It's just that back in the day, 16 stereo delay units would have been an unrealistic proposition. Whereas today 16 tracks of delay barely dents my CPU.
Racks do need to lose the latency though.
