OK, so now I'm being thick...
How come some people have T2 already while other loyal and committed registered users don't?! (and if some - and not others - have been selected as beta testers, how was that selection done?)

Hi there Lunch Money,Lunch Money wrote:You'll have to ask Bill Murray that one. He did all the pickin'.
OK, so is this a wind up - including Beno's post above - to annoy those of us like you and me who are patiently and positively waiting, alongside those who are being impatient (mentioning no names!)?...
- or have some ordinary (but plainly indescreet) users actually have advance copies to test run?
If this is yet another hoax, then it has the honour of being the first one to seriously upset me, because it implies that Mackie have a seriously poor attitude towards some high profile members of the forum here... such as you LM.

closed / invited beta tests are an accepted way of eliminating the last few little bugettes in all types of software ...
... until jules post last week openly identifying valley and modulr as beta testers the whole thing was pretty hush-hush (although you could easily have put 2-and-2 together prior to that) ... since then platinumears has made it obvious he has a beta too ...
... i have NO idea how jules and mackie selected users to invite onto the test (although in valley and modulrs and platinumears cases its pretty obviously because they know the app inside out) or even who else here beyond those named does or doesnt have a beta version ...

Dude, SOMEONE's gotta beta-test it!
Once upon a time, there was a completely accidental press release saying that there would be a public beta, when in fact what the press release SHOULD have read was that a demo will become available when the product is shipping.
But just because the beta isn't actually public doesn't mean that they don't have a beta program. And it strikes me as reasonable that they would pick people from this very forum, indisputably the MAIN Tracktion forum in the world.

Now, the question is-- why would it upset you? I understand that *everyone* here would like to be part of a beta-test, but since it's not public, SOMEBODY is going to be left out.
Hey...
Did you call me a high profile member of the community?

I'm all warm and tingly now. <chuckle>

Software has to be beta-tested, to find bugs before release. You can't get everyone to do it, or else the software has actually been released. 'Cos everyone's got it. So some folks test it, and others don't. There's no big conspiracy really, is there?
As for how people were chosen, i'd hazard a guess that some were asked by mackie, and others offered and were taken up on the offer. Like most beta testing really.

OK, that's fair enough Lunch Money, but those who do have copies should perhaps be discreet about it and concentrate on doing their job instead of us having four page thread in which they make a joke of it.
