I have a few queries bout rewire implimentation in Tracktion.
I would normally launch my host applet and then launch FL studio. With FL auto detencting itself into rewire mode. This does not happen with Tracktion. Seems I have to first instert the rewire plugin in one of the tracks, and then choose launch editor from that tracks property pannel.
this results in FL launching fine. But, under normal inplementation FL should also launch another window which toggles applets and shuts down FL (as in rewire mode clicking the cross on the FL window does not shut FL)
When i launch FL in tracktion using the method mentioned above, the FL toggle window does not appear. So i just shut tracktion down.
Two issues :
Dedicating a track for rewire.
Not getting FL's anchor window in rewire
Thank you for all help

If you double click on the FL chestnut logo, top left, you return to Tracktion.
TO go back to FL clikc on "launch editor" again.
Hope this helps

Thank you, but now, how do I properly shut down FL in rewire mode ? And do i really need to make all those many tracks in TRacktion (if I were using multiple outputs from FL) ? Guess i would, since Tracktion does not have a mixer... ok.

TO properly shut down FL in rewire mode, just close FL in the normal way, making sure you save the file first (use the same file name in FL as in Tracktion to avoid confusion down the line!)
In terms of making "all those tracks", the beauty of ReWire is that it is very flexible. In the Tracktion properties window, you can configure both the MIDI out to FL and the audio return from FL. This means that you can use Tracktion's MIDI sequencer to trigger FL's instruments, add VST effects in FL or in Tracktion (fully automated)... and if you do this then of course you will want/need a fresh Tracktion track for each FL instrument you sequence.
Alternatively though, you can do a pile of sequencing in FL, and in Tracktion you can simply set up ONE track only to bring back the master audio out from FL's mixer into the Tracktion song... where you can add audio or whatever, and master using Final Mix. Another great solution!
Lastly, mixing in Tracktion is actually very good indeed (and in the long-awaited version 2 mixing will be summed at 64-bit audio). I usually add the 4-band EQ as a filter to every track, and find that mixing is very flexible and easy to do. Veritcal alignment of mixer channels in Tracktion makes you use your ears more, which has to be good!

So, ill confirm the procedure :
one track needed in tracktion to enable rewire device.
This track will bring back the LR sum from the rewired device.
Any xtra number of outputs from the slave will need those many more tracks in tracktion.
Shutting down tracktion while FL is in ewire mode is not an issue. The anchor window (which as stated by the FL manual shouold be closed to shut down FL when in rewire mode) not being there is not an issue.
Am I correct ?
Cool!

All correct except - when you shut down, close FL first, then Tracktion. Save in both with the same file name. And that's all there is to it!
Have fun!

Exactly, closing FL by clicking the cross in FL while FL is in Rewire mode will not shiut down FL. You need to close the anchor window. Which des ot appear by this method.

and i still do not know why FL shows the default tempo of 140 (which does not have any bearing on the song, except for at times when i get double notes) inspite of it being slaved to host, and that i can change the tempo within FL(which again does not have any bearing on the playback speed of the song )
thanks

Are you sure you are inserting FL as a ReWire slave and not as a VST?
