$20 will get you DK+(at least for today), that seems like a good drum solution for Tracktion.

We did, in an earlier thread: no dedicated drum editor, but easier painting in of rolls with the new line tool, and fixed note-length options (rather than being locked to snap value / zoom level).

Thanks, but I already have a sample player in DFHS -- I don't need RMIV or DK+. I need something to sequence the notes and phrases visually while retaining output to DFHS. If I have to buy a whole new application, I'll purchase DoggieBox, as it is far more suitable for my needs, but being able to do it all inside T2 without importing from external apps would be greatly preferable, not to mention less expensive.

DK+ has a drum patter sequencer, actually I think it is designed to work with other drum VST as much as it's internal sounds.

Guys, I appreciate all the suggestions, but they're really not along the lines of what I want (I tried ERA and it was really not for me) -- I already know what I'll use if necessary.

Thanks, platinum. I see it now -- buried deep in a lengthy discussion about the weekly feature tease in January. Sorry, I was looking for it in the thread dedicated to drum editors...

T2 could still do the trick with the line tool and a built-in step editor (dunno if that'll be in T2 or not), but the more I think about it, I think I'd rather purchase something specifically for the task than deal with tools that are just "good enough."

I'll check out DoggieBox tonight, and if I can get it to talk to DFHS, it'll be a good compliment to T2. :)

Last time I looked you could only export WAVs from DoggieBox. Can you export Midi now? I sent them an email with suggestions and they were nice but didn't seem too motivated. I suggested they do an VST/AU version.

According to the user manual, DoggieBox can export midi just fine. I haven't played with it much, so I don't know how well it works. It can also send midi out in real time. It appears to work fine with Ugly VSTi Host. Set up Ugly VSTi Host to load up Superior Drummer, set up the drum kit, then configure DoggieBox to use the Ugly VSTi Host's midi port. :)

Like I said, not as convenient as a built-in solution, but the DoggieBox interface is exactly what I want out of a drum sequencer. Better to have a dedicated tool that does exactly what I want than an integrated tool that only half works for me.
