seriously...

Which part don't you understand?

Not to piss you off, but: create a new rack, drop VST's into it, create routings/connectors... and then drop the rack into a track, just like a VST...

Mclilith showed me how easy it is to layer two VSTi in Tracktion. Try this link around the second page or so. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72185

Also check out what platinumears has to say in the second page or so in this recent "Actually, TRacktion is quite nifty isn't it" thread...

thanks for all... first question.. why do we have two rack windows, that essentially seem the same.. ?

Post

At first, both racks will be identical because you only have one rack 'open' and therefore it shows the same rack in both spaces. But when you open or create a second rack, you'll then be able to work on 2 different racks at the same time.

That's all. :D In some situations, you may want to be able to see the contents of 2 racks. If so, the functionality is provided. If not, just use the one rack view.

Oh! thats kool

next Q. when I insert a rack filter in one of the tracks , I get a dry wet mix ration, with it defaulting to 100%wet.

Whats the correct way of using racks for say send FX like reverbs ?

I don't use racks for sends, to be honest. I use subminimal.org (aka ModuLR) Senderella for that.

But in theory, the rack on the "return" track would be 100% wet, and the rack on the "send" track would be variable, I believe.

cool.. ill chek senderella out... so ure using racks for mostly Multi out VSTi's and stuff ?

Post

Nope, not even, so far. Just for interesting routing of audio effects.

oh... but then, i missed out the whole racks development phase. I remember that was when jules was active around here. so whats the main use of these racks ?

Post

I just rtied out senderella. Very nice. Works just like an aux send. I have one question though... the send channel of senderella... do i keep it 100% wet or dry ? the return of cource remains 100% wet.

the main use is any of four different tasks:

1 - aux send

2 - alternate mix output

3 - multi-out / multi-in vsti support

4 - modular routing.

whether or not you use racks for any of these tasks, or instead use a 3rd party alternative is purely a matter of taste.

The Senderella in Send mode will have variable wet/dry. Not likely you'll keep it at 100% wet.
