i think some of the exporting sf2 features could be updated... cause vst-> sf2 really doesnt work for me at all.

well, can V-Stack let you rearrange the order of your plugs freely like Chainer? I'm assuming it's just an extension of the insert rack in Cubase, which doesnt allow you to do that

It´s the Chainer- and the loaded instruments-/FX-presets (.fxp/.fxb) which canot be saved in the demo. For me this is essential as I do most of my VST-setups in Chainer.unogeek wrote:Do any of you guys know the actual differences in the demo and full versions, and in your opinions would it be worth doshing out my euros for a full version.
I undestand the loading of presets are disabled, but are these presets sounds of the plugins or is it presets configurations of chainer, for example if I made a rack with a couple of synths and effects. Is it these I couldnt load

I have not had any problems with V-Stack. Most of the complaints seem to be if you leave it running forever. I use it for a few hours and then shut it down, so i have not seen any of those problems. Personally, I like the power of V-Stack, but Chainer is just so quick to use that I end up using it more often. The only time I use either program is when I want to work on some quick ideas without starting Nuendo.

Chainer would be perfect if it had support for using multiple MIDI devices simultaneously.

There's always Brainspawn's Forte Ensemble. It has many advanced features that you won't find in Chainer. It's also rock-solid.

You can save and load .fxp and .fxb files with the demo version of Chainer, so it's quite handy for designing patches for a VST.unogeek wrote:I undestand the loading of presets are disabled, but are these presets sounds of the plugins or is it presets configurations of chainer, for example if I made a rack with a couple of synths and effects. Is it these I couldnt load
Thanks
Graham
But the demo won't allow you to save or load setups, ie, if you load a couple of synths and FX into Chainer, you can't save that combination.
I agree with you Graham, I don't think it's worth the dosh just for that feature if the developer no longer supports it. For me, the demo is just fine.
However, if it was supported, i'd buy it.

I freaking love Chainer. I just hope it doesn't become outdated when VST technology changes. Or, I hope another developer will fill that void when it does happen.

What is Chainer? an effect or sound generator - synth?
Thorough preparation makes its own luck
