If I were to purchase T1 now, do I stand to gain on purchase of T2 ? I am working on T1 NFR. Just started my first serious project with it. Im still evaluating. If some of the issues I have will be addressed with T2, and I can edit as fast as i do with SX/nuendo, im on it.

I dont really have 80bucks to spare (call me a miser, but im serious broke :( ). Just a thought.

probably, but no-one who knows is telling right now, and the rest of us don't really know.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

My personal opinion: I would not buy right now just as an investment. On the other hand, you could email Mackie about this, and ask for an arrangement. Many vendors provide a smooth path for new releases when you buy after a certain period.

No need to email Mackie. We haven't anounced any pricing information for T2 or our upgrade policy. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Beno, I thought that Mackie's official line was that if you bought T1 now, and then upgraded to T2, it would be cheaper in total than buying T2 new for $199. Is that no longer the case?

I doubt mackie will make an anouncement on an upgrade discount and then continue to sell T1 at the current price... But I think NI is doint that with amplitube...

I still need to decide on tracktion though...

Seems like a good idea. That way people on the fence, like me, might be motivated to buy. Even if I dont do the upgrade they would have my 80 bucks. Right now the NFR is doing just fine, and Im not convinced T2 is going to be worth the price for me. until I get a better computer I probably cant use most of the new goodies anyways.

We'll see

Well it has been said back in December that existing T1 users would receive a discount on T2. But he asked if there was a specific deadline to buy T1 and still receive this discount. And that deadline (if it exists) has not been anounced. I honestly don't know if there is a deadline. I just know we haven't anounced it. Just trying to keep things as clear as possible with what has and hasn't been said.
