Some kind of Arpeggiator before whatever sampler you're using? Either Sonicbytes ERA or Arpocalypse?

The problems with loop points is that you can't easily set it to 'repeat' in sync with the sequencer, like in 16ths. Basically what you get in the mpc if i remember correctly is that if you select 16th and hold down say your snare pad you get instant techno-drummachine-snareroll classic. In fruityloops i can't do that, i have to manually program the hits. sorry
je n'ai pas besoin de copier.

Exactly! I've also searched the net for a plugin or drum machine that emulates this. Hopefully its something we've all overlooked that easily replicates this priceless effect. If not maybe someone could develop a freeware version of it

nope, the note repeat function is only on MPC. you should get yourself a nice MPC ;) You wont regret it!
The MV8000 even doesnt have that function. No other hard - or software has that function. (if Im correctly)

but why would someone want to repeat a snare drum 3-4 times- that would be very mechanical sounding...

If you want to do what I think you do, Phutboyslim will do it.

You use it by pressing a button to turn it on and again to turn it off though, not by pressing a key for on and releasing for off. It does all manner of quantisations too, not just 16ths.

Arpocalypse will definitely do it. Put it before your drum sampler. You can even draw in a pattern of your choice and set the swing! Easy peasy!

To sound very mechanical?

Ever looked at Rekliner's Loopy Llama? Will capture and loop, etc.

Or to make awesome 303 basslines! I think its better than every matrix on the planet. I make all my 303 lines on my mpc.

There is a plugin called Autothrob by Tencrazy.com that does what I'm talking about but, you can only do it after you've recorded your sequence. I'm looking for one that works in realtime.

Well if its out there this should be the place to find it.

Hi Blackanom,
You can do that in EXT, (EXT forum is here on kvr if you have more questions about it)

The way to simulate this feature is to filter midi notes and trigger many arpeggiators (actually one for each roll you need 16th 32th etc.)after you can route the midi out from EXT in your instrument, sequenceur etc. or use this "midi roll" directly inside EXT.

edit: PS for your info EXT can run in standalone but also like a plugin in your host.

Bastien, you are a life saver. That's exactly what I wanted. Thanx man

So you've indeed emulated the effect with this ARPocalypse vsti? If so then how? Via drum machine etc?
