Stylus RMX sound fluctuates right before automation kicks in

I have automation on my RMX track, and every time right before the automated fader moves the sound goes away for a split-second. It seems to happen when I have the automation start at the beginning of a clip. Anyone else experience this? It is even worse when I have the "Shift automation timing" option turned. My track is useless right now with this probelm...please help!!
