I am running an Audigy 2 at the moment (til I can afford a Cre@mware), and I can't seem to hear any real time monitorring going on when recording.

I think I've tried most combinations of things but haven't been successful...

Wave Device choices: Direct Sound, Creative ASIO , SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [C400], SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [C400] ...

of course I get different choices of ins and outs with each one. I haven't been able to hear anything at all coming in (except Direct sound) regardless of the "Use ASIO Direct Mode" setting. Can someone give me a pointer on at least a good starting point for me to get this up and running?

thanks,
Myvryn

Just some added info.. e-to-e is enabled, I hear my synths fine, I hear the effects fine.. the only thing I'm having problems with is the line-in audio...

just covering all the bases here ... you need to ensure end-to-end is ALSO enabled in the properties of the audio input conntectd to the track you want to record into ...

Thanks a lot.. I had a feeling it was just a stupid mistake on my part. Now another dumb question if you have the time...

I'm hearing about 25ms of delay on everything I recored using this method. do you think the emu 0404 would get rid of this? I've heard some pretty good things about that card as a stepping stone to picking up a creamware... or would I not see a lot of difference between that and my Audigy 2?

Thanks again,
Eddy

It should help reduce latency, yes.

(It had better, mine has just been delivered and is sitting here in front of me!)

any half decent semi-pro[1], ASIO based, PCI-card, should capable of delivering sub-10ms latencies without any trouble.

The RME, Echo, M-Audio, and new EMU cards are no exception.

Thanks.. Yeah. the +-3dB in mix down is killing me too... Great for gaming though.
