This group seems to be about speculation around future versions of tracktion so I hope it doesn't offend anyone that I ask a question about how to use the current tracktion...
is there a way to assign one vol/pan filter to more than one track such that when you automate that filter that one curve applies to all assigned tracks/clips? I have recorded using two microphone pairs. I need to adjust volume for a pair rather than a single mic.

Actually it does, get out.larsfarm wrote:I hope it doesn't offend anyone that I ask a question about how to use the current tracktion...
You could submix your tracks to another track by changing their output destinations, the Volume on the submix track would obviously effect all the tracks sent to it.
If you want to keep the tracks seperate then i think you'll have to copy and paste the automation curves...

A useful thing to know is that in tracktion automation curves are tied to a FILTER not to a track, and that filters are objects that can be copy/pasted/ dragged aruond.
So you can automate a filter(e.g.the volume/ pan filter) and then ctrl+drag it to another track (erase the old vol/pan filter). All the setting, including the automation curves, will be copied as well.

How does this work if you want to solo tracks? Live4 does this the same way, but you run into issues because soloing the mixed track mutes the source tracks, resulting in no audio.
'mute/solo' groups sounds like a good feature to have unless track folders are implemented. I figure that could be done easily enough.

Wait, I'm getting a feeling this may be a good reason to use daniel-s' mixer.
