As predicted, I have planned for a preview version of Filterscape (kinda beta that runs in demo mode), accompanied by an introduction offer. I'm confident that this will happen pretty soon.kodama wrote:Urs, will there be a public beta for FS PC or Zebra PC, now that I won Zebra?
Zebra 2 has to wait until after Musikmesse though... but then it gets 100% of my time.

What I didnt realize is that Zebra 2 is going to be coming out! Yikes, is there going to be a free upgrade for recent purchasers?
Thanks

Upgrades have been free so far, but I have not yet decided wheather there'll be an upgrade fee for Z2 or not. I *think* it will be 20$, but I'd find it only fair to make it free for people who've bought within the last 3 months when it comes out.
However, I'm currently buried too deeply into the PC side of things, porting my engine/Filterscape. It looks good, but I can't give an exact estimate on when the primary work on Zebra 2 will happen... (I suspect in April/May)

Urs
Are you likely to do a VST OS X version of Zebra 1.5 before moving on to version 2?

No, unfortuantely not really. Zebra's engine is obviously too AU specific for that...richardbrown wrote:Urs

The ZebraShell VSTi does a good job though, but has some problems in some hosts, i.e. the editor window has to be clicked on the top bar to make it editable...
Zebra 2 will be built upon the new engine which I've worked on since Zebra 1.5 was released. The new engine has automatic support for AU and VST Win/Mac.

Urs, will Zebra 2 coexist with 1.5 in my components folder, or will it replace 1.5? Just curious.Urs wrote:Zebra 2 will be built upon the new engine which I've worked on since Zebra 1.5 was released. The new engine has automatic support for AU and VST Win/Mac.

It will have some refinements in about every area that need new parameters (FilterFM anyone?
It's also very likely that there will be subtle differences in the presets. I will do my best to write a preset importer, but some stuff will definately sound a little different (though, of course not worse).

Good news, thanks. (I'm also glad to hear that the PC FS port is going so well!)

This from the same man who asked why I would want to keep Zebra 1 along with 1.5.
