What is the best way (for all tracks together) to replace one phrase, bar, verse, note of some duration with corresponding piece from another take. Like the rehersal went well, but there was an error in the concert.
I would like to set an in- and out-point in the destination and similarly an in- and out-point in the source. The sections may not be of the exact same length. Then I'd like to have Tracktion replace the destination section with configurable (very) short crossfades and any gaps closed or trailing parts moved down as needed.
What is the preferred way to do this in Tracktion?

I'm never 100% sure if my suggestions are helpful to everyone, because we all have different ways of working. I'd just use the '/' function to cut the clips to the right sizes, and slip the new section into where the old section was.
If your two 'pieces' are interchangeable, you can use "m" to set your in/out markers (or page up/page down to go to the beginnings and ends of clips)so they're cut at just the right spots; however, since you want to cross-fade anyhow, it doesn't really need to be that surgical. Once you drop the new section into the hole created in the old section, just overlap them a little and press the 'auto cross-fade' button.
