music isnt to argue, me thinks. what is to argue is how people in positions "force" societies to like music ..
but music itself is just sound the ears react to.

I always care very much about it and put much work into getting it right but I don't stop there... for me this would be like designing a beautyful car but leaving out the engine...

Actually, authorial identity is as old as literature.

I find it a bit amusing that some of you seem to assume that people like e.g. me who make pop care less about sound & the ambience of their tracks than e.g. Vurt...

Who said that exactly? And your later statement suggests that those who do what vurt does ignore the structure and method of making music.

I could be wrong of course because it's hard to interprete whart you exactly meant but I thought it was you:

"Let's try to hear old sound in a new way." It's as much about listening closer, as much about sound in its physical state, as it is about its humanized form and calculation.

Maybe you could paraphrase this?

if someone tells me that he/she likes this song so so much, while it´s a song i personally think bad about .. well, i can only congratulate that that song makes that person cheer. thats what music should do.

and b.t.w.: I don't care about the 'structure and Method of making music'. For me it's about 'form and substance'. You can listen to Bach's fugue on my old Nokia and it's still Bach's fugue. That's the substance of it. When it is played and conducted by Harnoncourt and his orchestra there is added form to the substance. Both combined make up for great music.

I know..."oozes" is what first came to mind but "vurt OOZES" just lacks the punch of "vurt ROCKS"

Lets face it, the vocabulary we have for discussing music is just plain dated. Or perhaps I just suck at describing music.
