Very good post "dealwithit", and very true, you put the exact words on what theyre doing, alienating themselfs from the users instead of capitalize on them.
When Tracktion 1.? was reviewed here in swedish audiomagazines, one of the strongest points was said to be the connection between the developer and the users.

the spirit of tracktion (and possibly more so - tracktion users) but not (IMHO) necessarily mackie ...braj wrote:Sorry, I didn't mean it to be so heavy. But if you mod an official Traction forum, paid or not, you do represent Traction to some degree.pHz wrote: ...modulr...

check the recent threads in this forum ... we have had EXACTLY that statement from beno in the last couple of days (along with what i read as a VERY heavy hint about when T2 might see the light of day ... but i dont think anyone else picked up on it) ...dealwithit wrote:I have no plans to upgrade to T2, but I can see the anger, frustration and embitterment that is caused by the lack of a simple "hey, sorry, it's going to be a bit later than we thought, we're ironing a few things out". A statement like that would do wonders for this customer base. And noone defends T like its users. Mackie needs to recognize how loyal its user base is and capitalize on it, not alienate it
... not an official announcement on the mackie site admittedly (and maybe for some users a bit late) but TBH i prefer this kind of informal contact on the forum than an impersonal statement on a webpage ...
... lets not forget also that the personnel and the company are not the same ... maybe beno (and some others) just ARENT ALLOWED to make certain statements ...

Oh come now... look, I love tracktion.. and I do my best to help out in whatever capacity. However, being a moderator does not mean that I'm obligated to censor myself when I haven't said anything wrong in the first place. Am I not allowed a hair of sarcasm when I think something is silly?braj wrote:Sorry, I didn't mean it to be so heavy. Yes, I apologize, I hadn't read that yet. This is exactly the kind of communication I was talking about (although something on the Mackie site would be nice). I just wonder how many other users haven't seen that? I'm bored today, or I wouldn't have seen it (that thread slipped down the list).pHz wrote:check the recent threads in this forum ... we have had EXACTLY that statement from beno in the last couple of days (along with what i read as a VERY heavy hint about when T2 might see the light of day ... but i dint think anyone else picked up on it) ...dealwithit wrote:I have no plans to upgrade to T2, but I can see the anger, frustration and embitterment that is caused by the lack of a simple "hey, sorry, it's going to be a bit later than we thought, we're ironing a few things out". Personally I agree with dealwithit's previous excellent post.
True, beno did say as quoted above - and I had seen that statement... but this is really not the professional way of keeping your customers informed, or how information should be leaked.
In fact it is precisely because Mackie have chosen to gradually leak titbits in this way that some of us have to wade through threads such as this one - and pick up on other people's negativity - in order to find out basically what is going on. It simply should not be that way.

Bollocks! I never heard of that software, but from your own post:dealwithit wrote:This is so reminiscent of Newtek and Lightwave 3D, it's almost scary.
- Tracktion 2 has not been delayed by "months" but so far only by a few hours.
- No-one has pre-orded T2. Mackie is not obliged to release anything if they choose not to.
- T1 has not "reached the end of its life-cycle" as it still rocks, while its competitors suck.
Now I respectfully suggest you all go and get a bloody life!
I should mention I suppose: this is the first post I've made with my new PC.. got back from work today and my trusty old Athlon refused to wake up, so I went and impulse bought a new box! (Not sure how I'm going to pay for it yet..
Still configuring.. hope I don't regret rushing into it!
