I inserted an instance of SFZ in a rack...Loaded the titanic SF.

have bout 15 channel of sequnced midi data... go about inserting the SFX rack plugin in most tracks... assign the midi clips their respective midi channels. Load needed sound in the 16 channels within SFZ.

Now I have the summed output from SFZ, a combination of all midi inputs recieved, thats bout 12 channels of audio, returning to all of Tracktions channels that have a SFZ rack inserted...

So if i were to insert an EQ on the strings track, post the SFZ rack filter, The eq wont make any diffrence, because the strings being triggered within SFZ, are returning to all channels... Impossible to work with again...

the only solution I see is inserting one instance of SFZ per track... pointless...

Any solutions ?

Thanks

SFZ only has stereo outputs. You need one instance per sound if you need to treat the results seperately: this is a limitation of the plug, not of Tracktion. (No need to bother with a rack either).

Possibly SFZ+ will do what you want, but I don't have it..

Also - inserting an instance per track is doable. IIRC correctly Rene said something about different instances sharing resources - search the rgc:audio forums for info.

SFZ+ has multiple outs I think. But yes, if you load one SF2 (or a couple of sfz files which have common wavs/oggs) the file will be shared across all instances that need it. OR, run sfz in dfd mode (remember that when changing settings, you need to reload the file before it takes effect!)

I dont have an issue with SFX having only one output.. i have an issue with that output going into all tracks within Tracktion... So that results in the SFX output being outputted n number of times.. where n is the number of track that have the SFX rack plugin inserted... leads to distortion...

p.s. I was on the RGC website the other day... somehow i could not locate SFZ+

Thats because you are using it wrong! It is only possible to get a single stereo audio stream out of SFZ. Nothing you do with a rack will change that!

Post

To be specific: ditch the rack, and insert multiple instances of SFZ.

got it thanks.. and if i understand correct... this will not use more system resource... like uploading as many instances of the titanic SF as there are those of SFZ ?
But maybe this too will not make much of a difference since i use DFD and dont samples onto the RAM...

while ure at it.. could you also help me with the reason issue thread ???
