I am a Computer Music subscriber. Music Tech Magazine came in the post today as well but nothing on T2 yet.jalapeno wrote:Is CM85 out yet - I could only find CM84 in the shops - are you guys subscribers ?
I think CM85 will be in the shops on Tuesday or Wednesday latest.
A bit more info...
CM "...there's so much more we don't have space to discuss here."
" A semi transparent toolbar now pops up above the part you wish to edit.."
"...note velocities are now represented by the more traditional vertical bars, and controller data can be easily assigned to any CC and curves drawn directly onto the lane. You can set the length and typical velocity of any note created with the pencil tool and a colour palette is provided for colouring individual notes. Its all very slick and makes even detailed MIDI editing a simple, intuitive task even when you have a number of tracks open simultaneously on the same screen"

I have just checked the back of the DVD no sign of a demo of T2. I think a Tracktion v.1 demo ships with each Computer Music DVD now...I wonder if CM have changed that version to a demo of T2.Just checking the DVD contents...

I think we're really in store for something special here. T2 hasn't even been released yet and the preliminary reviews are fantastic. Over 100 new features and over 70 plug-ins are waiting for us. And though CM is looked at by many as a beginner magazine(I disagree), getting a perfect score is a difficult task. It scored higher than any other host in recent days. And the future music review was also higher than any other host except Live4(which didn't get counted down for it's biggest downfalls).
Also, I have seen Beno and Jules here today quite a bit, which to me says something. They have a light-ness and joking attitude about them like maybe they are getting ready for something. Maybe T2 is closer than we think. Maybe even Monday!
Anyway, I think this will be good for us to wait for, and well worth it. Here's waiting to see......

Bear in mind CM gave the imitial release of Cubase SX a 9, and everyone knows what a bugfest that was. If it was CM alone singing T2's praises, I would be worried, but it seems other mag reviews are of the same mind, so it's looking goodkoolkeys wrote: And though CM is looked at by many as a beginner magazine(I disagree), getting a perfect score is a difficult task.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

Well I had the impression that CM had gotten locked into giving every host 9/10 of late. It's seemed as though they didn't want to be drawn on which is THE sequencer to get. So Live 4, FL5, Sonar 4, Logic 7, Digital Performer 4.5, Reason 3... all of 'em got 9 (although Cubase SX3 only got 8 .
- they've been anti-Cubase for some time). The only things I noticed them give 10/10 for this year were the Korg Legacy collection and Stylus RMX.
So put in that contrext 10/10 means even more.
Congratulations for 10/10 in CM and Platinum Award in FM.

Hmmm I just read in the April 2005 SOS mag that Tracktion will not be a downloadable product anymore, that it will be boxed *instead*, rather than as an additional option.
Not sure if this will be the case for certain, but that is the information given in the article I read. The article talks about alternatives to more expensive sequencers.
The Mackie Spike had a very favourable review as well.
