- fantastic built-in sampler
Tracktion's sampler rocks, I use it all the time. No subsitute for Kontact of course, but it's not meant to be..
 that's like comparing a beetle to a Porsche 911

Both cars get you there, but you can park a beetle anywhere without worrying whether it will be nicked while you are gone.

But I go to bed still a committed Tracktion user, secure in my knowledge that I can subtly speed up my choruses if I need to. :hihi:

Goodnight all.. :)
me to (not the thing about Tracktion of course :hihi:- the thing about going to bed)

I think who is looking for a really informative comparison chart can gain quite a lot from our little 'fight' :-D

Good night! :-)

(how many host wars threads end like that then?)

Nope. You can't drop an effect onto single slice.
of course you can! :P

Damn, I missed the fight...

Not much of one, since even though Jens likes to shake us up a bit, it seems that Tracktion users and eXT users have a mutual respect for one another. ;) Or at least, we admire the respective coders enough to not want to say anything TOO nasty.

I was a bit confused, though-- Jens, did you mention eXT has automatic beatslicing and so forth? Now, I know I'm not the brightest bulb ever, but nor am I a complete dimit, and it took 2 of you and a multi-page thread to show me how to use eXT's beatslicer to do what I needed it to do. :P

And to me, that's why Tracktion's my lifemate while eXT is just my occasional fun bit of 'action on the side'. I love Tracktion and she gives me everything I need and want in a DAW. :D eXT... she's so complicated. She makes me play headgames just to have a little bit of fun with her.

But fun she is, indeed. I just wouldn't want to have to go through the trouble of playing those games with her every day. :D

(er... not that I'm advocating cheating on a REAL life partner...)

See? I told you

So your leaning towards Tracktion? I don't think you'll regret it :)

Regards,

Tommy

PS: BTW, before you make your final decision you should take a look at another three programs ... and, maybe, start a thread like "Fruity Loops vs. Reason vs. ORION" It's fun :D
Some music here

You will read a lot of positive comments on Tracktion on KVR
That's because there are so many cheapskates around here :hihi:
Eating beans on toast when they should be eating cake. :P

You call Cubase the cake? I call it the kack. :P People with sense know that if you have to choose a meal, you choose one for sustenance, not for the way it's decorated.

:D

Besides, I prefer the term, "financially challenged".

No, we don't eat cake, we throw it! :hyper:

cubase is for the music toffs that like to get half way through a tune then loose the hole thing in a crash

Sonar is nice but cpu hungry & midi timing not so solid

Tracktion is for the man who knows what he wants from life

it's just a few simple steps, Greg - imo it couldn't be much straighter - why didn't you send me a pm? :?
