Just wanted to let you know that it looks like the latest Filterscape demos don't work in Win98SE. I just get a blank white GUI (although it might actually be running correctly--I can hear the periodic demo noise for example).

I'm loading the dll from the directory which contains the UHE_DATA folder where the graphics stuff is.

Of course, Win98 is getting old so I'd understand if nothing can be done. Just thought I would mention it.

The man's been programming under Windows for a total of 3 weeks. I'd be utterly shocked if it did work under 98. Besides which I'd rather have Urs work on Zebra 2 than on adding 98 support to his framework.

Do the words - GET XP Already ! - mean anything too you ? hmmmm 98' 2005 98' 2005 98' 2005 98' 2005 98' 2005 98' 2005 (this is nearly but not quite as bad as the dude on the Props forum bitching about not being able to run Reason 3.0 on a G3 400mhz laptop) .............. :D

Hmmph. :)

(And besides, it's not Win98, it's Win98SE!!!!, the advanced version.)

David,

it should work on Win98.

If the window is blank, this would most likely mean that there is a problem for Filterscape when finding the setup scripts and images in the uhe_data folder.

You say UHE_DATA in capital letters... does this mean that all the files were somehow truncated to that ancient 8-letters-dot-3-letter-suffix filenaming system? - This would of course smash it.

If so, how did you extract the .zip file? Might be possible that there's an incompatibility of some sort with one of the tools, which I might need to take care of.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Sorry, I stay corrected. The beta team has confirmed that Filterscape doesn't run on Win98.

I'll look into this, but you shouldn't put the hopes too high. It seems to be a weird issue, maybe something I can not solve without major effort.

For now, I've set the system requirements to W2k/XP.

But I'll do my best to get it up on 98/ME as well!

Cheers,

;) Urs

OK, thanks.

(Yes, the directory structure unzipped properly, so that wasn't it.)
