I'm trying to help a friend of mine to set up his PC to use Tracktion.
He can hear sounds (from Wusikstation) when he plays his midi keyboard, and can record and create clips. However, when he tries to play the clip back, he gets no sound.
He seems to have Audio/Midi inputs/outputs set up OK as far as I can tell, so I'm not sure what to try next.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had that happen with Manystation.
At first the clip would only play when the manystation gui was visable, and if I tried to render the track, it would only render about half of it. I though it shouldn't be that way.
I stumbled upon the solution reading about an unrelated topic in another thread.
Make sure all program information is cleared. Highlight the midi in icon and right click set program, the option to clear is there. Also make sure there is no patch selected in the properties window of the highlighted midi in icon. Once I selected <no patch> my midi clip played back with no problems. Regardless whether the GUI was up or not, and I was able to render the track fully. I'm lucky to have stumbled upon the solution because at first I was like WTF? I got the idea from the thread about the guy whose VSTi was going to a default patch number.(another reason KVR rocks)
This might work since Manystation is the Wusikstation engine.
If that isn't it, than maybe he needs to try different sample sizes in the settings window. I had stability once I went from 256 to 512 samples.
I hope this might work for him, but I'm just a newbie so I can't be too sure.
One thing I've learned is that you have to troubleshoot by trying to recreate the problem with different VSTi's, settings, inputs, outputs, etc. In that way you can get closer to isolating the one factor that is causing the problem.
Hopefully T2 will have a manual with an extensive troubleshooting section so folks don't have to go through all of that.
