I did okay with the render, a slight problem with a couple midi tracks, so I edited till happy and just rendered out a couple parts and brought them back in as audio, not ideal but workable,
the biggest hassle is those last min sliding of clips where the envelope doesn't move with it
on the whole I'm pretty happy , I may post it if anyones interested...

Finally it was a drum midi track splitted up a few times.
There was no controller data in there.
So will this be fixed ?

I stopped using T1 the midi implementation is HORRIBLE.

Ever tried exporting MIDI files. Its a joke. you just get rubbish.

Im sick of the people on here saying "SHut up T1 works fine, just wait for T2" well sorry...not for me...I cannot do my kind of music on this piece of junk.

For the record, I export Midi Files to my MPC so I can play my songs live. I recorded some songs into T1 it was great but without any decent kind of MIDI impementation i have finished songs but they are trapped in T1.

Oh well.....back to Cubase VST 5 for MIDI

HURRY UP AND RELEASE T2 this is beyond a joke now...!!!!

exporting MIDI ... just make sure there is nothing on the track you want to export that will 'absorb' the MIDI data ... VSTi / some VST effects / etc ... and make sure the track outputs to a MIDI source and it should export just fine ...

(admittedly non-'standard' but given tracktions fairly strict left-to-right data flow it makes perfect sense)

I'm afraid MIDI exports are a bit screwy.. rules out ringtone creation anyway!

Eveytime I visit this forum, there is a person with a problem...and someone saying....this is a workaround.

Why doesn't it just work...!!!!

I don't even bother, if it doesn't work as supposed to, there's no point spending 2hours getting a workaround to work.

Oh...I see it will be better in T2... WELL WHERE THE F%&K is T2 'cause people directly linked to Makie have been saying this shit for months. I think the Mods on this forum and/or MACKIE & JULES should take some ownership for the supporters and give them a release date...or release a BETA DEMO for free....What have they got to loose....

Obviously you never heard any of mine then.. :hihi:

Nope no workaround. You can't make ringtones with Tracktion.

funnily enough ... it now stands out more than all the fancy tune ones ...

Of course when you visit a forum there are people with complaints... that's why they come to the forum, to try to find a solution. Since the solution isn't always something that's implemented in the current code, they are given a few workarounds as suggestions.

Seems reasonable to me, Madness.

I think, it is pretty interesting that midi screws up the system. I do not know any other program, which have problems with midi, usually it is audio or vst or whatever.

Unfortunately I like the rest of tracktion much more than any other hostess and I hope, they will fix it.

If not, we should make some noise here :-)

Never had a problem with it. What's your problem with MIDI export?
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Exported files don't play in normal media players, and when imported into Cubase for examination appear to have large amounts of silence at the start of the file. There are also some tempo oddities: I imported a 7/8 MIDI file, and while the time signature showed up correctly, the tempo was half what it should be even though it played at the correct speed. (ie: all note lengths were doubled.) When I exported it again the result had the tempo halved again (ie: quarter of the original).

I've managed to export individual parts ok (eg: a Microtonic pattern for re-importing) but entire GM files seem to cause problems..

Note lengths were halved, is of course what I meant to say..
