Really, did someone crack the SX3 protection? I was under the impression that Steinberg's dongle protection scheme had been able to keep cracks of SX2 off the web for years and that SX3 was equally strong. JerGoertz, actually you're right, there is no proper crack for SX3 yet, the lads at syncrosoft have been doing a good job and keeping it challenging, and syncrosoft's protection was responsible for delaying nuendo 2 and sx2 proper cracks for quite a long time

yea they might be a shit company, but honestly, whenever Ive worked with hardware and software, cubase or cubasis was the easiest for me to sequece/control external hardware with no learning curve. I hardly ever need to do this, so I dont use the program, but if I had an access virus laying around and some other crap, i would use cubase in a second.
I believe that some of the people stealing software would but it, but the majority wouldnt. If you want to buy a program, you will, and just cause you can steal it doesnt mean it will stop you. In order to expand their ligitimate clientel, regardless of if people steal the software or not, you have to lower the price. Ridiculously high prices means not everyone will be able to own it, or like most people, they just buy FL Studio. Actually, by having a high price, steinberg prolly found their niche in the market, professionals and elitests (just like someone like cadillac) BUt, whatever, i know one day, who knows when, you wont be able to pirate software. Than they will have to bite the bullet and put out a better product/service for the money, cause they cant blame it on that anymore.

The yamaha thing is part of it. These companies have gotten to be actually an assortment of other companies. So you call the one number you have and you get someone who says Hey that's another company's problem not ours! even though they are all responsible for the product. Yamaha steinberg keyfax all must work together to make this bloated structure work and fire as many employies at each of the subsidiary companies as possible to maximize profits.
