Kontakt 2 shipping...anyone have it?

I'd gotta say that I think Emu-X is very much comparable to Kontakt, just as much as HALion, EXS-24,etc. And Emu is probably the only one that can actually be called a "sampler" by the oldest definition, i.e. capturing audio. (don't get me wrong, I'm a devoted Kontakt-head!)
And don't forget Kontakt has Time-stretching + pitch shifting too, actually before Sampletank did.

Yeah, looks like I can pre-order in Canada, if I want. Guess I'll get the e-mail soon.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Komplete 2 promised early delivery of the update. I was informed that it would ship "in approximately 10 days" on March 14. As a point of reference, my Absynth 3 was to ship "in approximately 5 days" according to my e-mail from NI on March 11--the followup "is being shipped" e-mail came on the 24th. Patience is the order of the day.

My understadning is the primary seeling point of Kontakt 1 was not the included sample library, but its ability to load large sample libraries with large samples, employ disk streaming to handle the large samples, and (in contrast to Kompakt) provide advanced tools to work with the samples.loachm wrote:aerdt wrote:I am not holding my breath for K2. It seems with Kontakt 2, NI is attempting to "up the ante'" in the area of the included sample library to compete with Giga, etc.

If KSP performs as anticipated, then K2 will be my experimentalist's wet dream.

The komplete-care 2005 KONTAKT 2 Update has made it to The Netherlands.
I received my NI enveloppe today. This is funky party time, between Good Friday and Easter. They can do it. Congratulations

Emulator X sux arse compared to the simplicity of Kontakt. Yes the playback quality of the Emu X is better, Kontakts interpolation was never that good, hopefully this will change with Kontakt 2.
But I've had the Emu X since they first came out and I hate it. Have own lot's of emu samplers.... it's not even sample accurate, which for a vsti is awfull. Trying to edit on it is a pain, I had a wav bass drum playing then I had the same wav in the Emu X playing on a different track in Nuendo 2... it flammed all over the place. Sold it on ebay recently
