Hey,
I was at guitar center and mentioned T2 how we're all waiting for it, and the guy who worked there said they're already trained in it and own some T2 demos. I asked if I could have one and he said sorry man NFR. I was like alllrihghhhtt... Maybe he was talking out of ignorance but I'm not sure. Either way, he said mackie told them something about April.
just hoped itd help everyone cope

From my experience at guitar shops he probably thought you were asking about a Tractor from Massey Ferguson.

is this all really true ?! they give it to magazines, shops, reviewers guitar players but they don't give us a featurelist or usefull screenshots or news or dates... sorry, but if that's come out to be all true i'm dissapointed. I'm the customer, and it's my money mackie want's to have. it maybe politics or tactic or what ever but it's not a good behavior. just thinking of the new users tracktion can get would be bad marketing. so i hope this all isn't true.

The only thing that pisses me off is the secretive way this is all done. Minimonsta was delayed by a bit but there was no real secret about it. This is like covert ops by Mackie. It could be very annoying. Although it doesn't make much difference to me, if i was waiting on a particular feature, then this would piss me off. Why don't they just tell us every few days, sorry for the delay, this is what is going on. I can't see a problem with that. What other companies are this secretive about a release?

i'm a customer of t1 which was never finished. it has annoying bugs and features missing that were promised to fix and add. i need mtc and the first note on midiloops and looprecording....yesterday. whatever. i bought it because things weren't handled that way back then. do i have to buy another software just because i don't know WHEN i will have t2 ?! and searching a nother app that fits my need takes also a lot of time, so give me a featurelist and i know if it's worth waiting. if you have bought a car in summer with no windscreen wiper because you where told "yes, we give them to you after i have finished rackfilters" and now you can not drive because it's winter and raining all days monthes after rackfilters are finished... you won't feel betrayed ?! be a little more objective on the fact that for some people here it is much more annoying than for others.

Like I said, I am happy to wait. Apart from the midi editing there is nothing I need, that T1 doesn't provide me with. It just seems like there has been a BIG change in the way T users have been kept informed.

T1 is done. You are making crap up. There were never any features promised and not delivered. It is exceptionally stable, meaning that there are very few bugs. The dropped note is a bit of a hassle for some, but the rest of us learned to live with it and moved on.
You want to talk about cars?
You buy a Honda Civic. You drive it around for a year. Honda announces the Civic 2, which will feature jet propulsion and time travel capability.
Wow, neato feature! But... well... you didn't buy the Civic 2, you bought the Civic. And the fact that they offer you an upgrade path to the Civic 2 is a favour, not an obligation.

some things were promised to be released. they were even thought about if they will be t1 features. and it was said, that t2 won't be that long away. i haven't said i won't pay for an update. i bought the civic because i liked it. honda said "the things you would miss in civic will be there soon, in civic 1 or civic 2". ok, i drive the car and do all i can do with it, waiting for civic 2 tho drive around the world, but it don't come. that's what i said.

But you're wrong. I hereby formally challenge you to list the T1 features that were "promised" to you by Jules, any other employee of RMS, or by Mackie.
Honda may have told you that the features you want will be in the Civic 2, but you haven't purchased it yet, so they don't owe it to you.

Lunch Money, sure people are a bit lacking in the patience department, but aida is a Mackie customer. I'd pity them if they had the same view of their customers as you express. That's just a wrong way to look at it. From a sales/marketing point of view, you should see everyone in the market for a sequencer as a customer.
I do think they are handling this release rather badly. It's not the end of the world, but people do have a right to complain.

This thread has a lot to do with the old Traction/new Tracktion problem. Maybe it's the pre-Mackie, post-Mackie problem. I'm happy to have it at all because Reason bugs me and XT is beyond me! This community got used to being important to a developer but it shouldn't feel that a large company like Mackie owes it the same sort of allegiance that Jules gave it when it was just him and a group of dedicated nutters. I miss the old way but isn't this supposed to be about making music?

And what I think is this: he paid for T1. He got T1. He was never promised any more free features. Any further features will be a part of T2, which he has not yet paid for.
It's pretty black and white, really.
Just because you happen to agree with Aldi doesn't mean *I* am the one with a poor attitude towards Mackie customers. Rather, I feel the impatient and complaining lot who claim that that are OWED something are the ones with a poor attitude, one which I'd rather not see in every second damn thread. I'd rather see: "Tracktion Music by Aldi" as the title of a thread, for example, instead of, "I'm impatient and I want everyone to know it." Despite what you may have heard, the customer is NOT always right.
