That's very generous of you Urs! I joined the beta, but for various reasons I wasn't able to participate as actively as I would have hoped. This offer makes me feel a little bit better about that (otherwise I would have felt that my registration code was unfairly gained).Urs wrote:However, I'll happily give Filterscape for free to those of you who have already purchased Zebra back then. Well, some (2 or 3) have switched to Mac, some have joined the beta participation offer on page 24, so there are 5 or so left. I won't get broke by that (it's not MusikMesse...), but I'd feel much better!
So I guess we are all feeling better now

Boy am I a happy camper. Zebra and Filterscape are as good as any of the plug-ins I have, and I have quite a few. I really appreciate it. You can pretty much count on me as a sure buy for any upgrades and new plug-ins that you release for the PC in the future. You can also count on me not commenting on a group buy any more, too. I still haven't gotten my foot out of my mouth.Urs wrote:Thanks Larry!

The problem is, I'm not sure if my list is complete and if the emails are still valid. So, please send me an email...
Cheers,
Urs
I am pretty sure that if you missed anyone, you'll be notified.

Hi all,
first of all: Happy Eastern!
My easter egg I found today was of the depressing kind unfortunately. A Russian forum was discussing a crack of FilterscapeWin. So I thought well, let's see how they react if I post something. I posted a nice and polite statement. But d'oh, I harvested sneer.
I think it's just something I have to learn. Get over it, be thankful for the honest customers, and move on with things.

Yeah, but I don't want to prevent customer satisfaction... hence no go!luCiPHer wrote:yup, cracks are part of windows, you COULD get a deal with steinberg and take part in their dongle protection theme, that should prevent that

That sucks. BTW, I just noticed I had a pm here on KVR from a fellow who asked if we could "share xphraze xpansions."

Sorry to hear that Urs!
It is unfortunately part of the WIndows world. I hope it doesn't turn you off completely.
Best,
Gordon

There are some companies whose research shows that cracks increase exposure and hence increase sales!!!
Doesn't make it right, and never been proven.
Lets just hope it's an isolated incident, but it is part of life for a software developer.
Oh and congrats on your progress with the porting, very impressive.

Well, I still doubt that. I'd rather guess it's the other way round: Maybe there are more cracks of these software titles because they are successful?!?tobyond wrote:There are some companies whose research shows that cracks increase exposure and hence increase sales!!!
Thanks man!tobyond wrote:Doesn't make it right, and never been proven.

Hehehe, I must giggle still, because they added the Biomechanoid presets to the PC crack... they can't even use them with the current version...
Hell, yeah, it's not all that bad. Imagine what an insult it would've been if it wasn't cracked

I guess there are some whose primary means to research available plugins is to look on crack sites instead of KVRtobyond wrote:There are some companies whose research shows that cracks increase exposure and hence increase sales!!!
KVR is English only so if you are not an English speaker perhaps you would go to a crack site in your language and read for the first time about a new plugin. That fact that it has been cracked is a backhanded compliment in a way.
Who knows, a proportion of people who discover a plugin this way may purchase it. Somebody is probably hunched over a keyboard writing a thesis on this form of marketing at this very moment
Anyway - Urs - I am really looking forward to Zebra 2 - I just think it will be a shame if Zebra 2 comes and this entertaining thread draws to a close
